On this forum, we've debated how to monitor places for security, comparing the various systems and burglar alarm companies. This is not the reason for my inquiry today. We've all seen the incredible GoPro footage (?) and the amazing quality of the images. Could a GoPro camera be the source video camera for monitored security? Imagine someone at a central location, seeking to watch a couple of large auditoriums. Does the GoPro system offer this possibility? https://community.gopro.com/s/...eam%20on%20GoPro.Com. In your experience, could it be easily used by a number of untrained viewers? ------- Trying to simplify my life...

I may be wrong but I’d say no. Mine has a fairly short battery life recording and must be opened to charge.

Go Pro would be a bad choice. Not the right tool for the job.

I am not familiar with the GoPro, but any "system" that requires a human being to pay constant attention is bound to fail.

The "system" is a manned security team. Just thinking about adding more views of the areas under protection. ------- Trying to simplify my life...

Why not just use a camera designed for surveillance? You think a GO Pro picture is better? Camera technology is all science so use a camera that has the proper lens, configuration settings will provide better performance.
