In freshman year of HS, I worked in a Barton's candy store in NYC.
The job included delivering orders locally, stocking the display cases and general cleanup.

In junior year, another job I had was a dishwasher on the night shift at the local diner. Friday and Saturday they were open all night. During the week until 11 PM.

Senior year, I worked after school for a couple of hours per day at a local men's clothing store.
Dusting off leisure suits, putting out inventory and general cleanup.
I didn't see many leisure suits get sold. Smile

Edit to add.
My pop was also the superintendent of the apartment complex we lived in. I cut the grass and helped out with maintenance jobs around the complex.

I started out very early. I was paying room and board to live at home at age 14.

>Mowed lawns at age 8-9
>Roto-tilled gardens at age 10-12
>Picked cherries at age 14-15
>Edited to add: Newspaper route at age 15. 7 miles long. Wasn't so bad during good weather, but truly sucked when we had 2 feet of snow. That was when I froze my feet wading thru snow to deliver the papers.
>Bell hopped at age 15
>Pea harvest at age 16 (12 hours on the job, 3 hours travel each way, unpaid! Was paid $1.00 per hour, $12 for an 18 hour day.
>Errand boy at Dodge dealer 16
>Army at 17

Mowed lawns.
Paper boy. Found that the richest people on the route were also the biggest deadbeats, fyi.
Shoney's Restaurant busboy then cook.
Gift shop in the mall. Learned to wrap packages, lifelong benefit to my wife, hehe.
Asbestos removal. This, my internet friends, is a crappy job to hold in the summer months in South Mississippi.
Had more once I was out of the Army, but I don't consider those "odd jobs," so I'll spare you.

I mowed 3 neighbors yards from the time I was 14 until I left for college and that was it. One of the greatest gifts my parents ever gave me was not actually allowing me to work. I sure wanted to but my dads reasoning was that I would have to work another 40+ years after college so why start before you have to.

They wanted me to focus on school and other non work activities. I didn't appreciate it at the time but now that I'm 53 and have been working my fingers to the bone for 30 years I realize how much of a blessing it was.

Forget it: it's too late. Mom figured out you were a pilot a long time ago.

General yard work,(mowing, raking, etc.), sweeping out a woodworking shop where this older fellow with one leg made furniture to order. I sure wish I had had a chance to learn how he did it other than just watching because it was fascinating to see him take a block of wood, put it on a lathe, and make beautiful stuff as well as his other work.

My dad owned a lumber yard. I had plenty of "odd" jobs. Cutting stakes into the late night using scrap wood in December, cutting 1x6-4' pallet wood into the late night in December. He could also call me names when I fucked up that he couldn't with his regular employees. Dad was pretty damn good at instilling a work ethic into his kids. Dang, I miss the hell out of him Frown

I only had two odd jobs.
Farm work during the summer week ends and thru the week year round I worked for a Mom And Pop trucking company as I jack of all trades. Swept out the garage, cleaned tools and parts, part runner, tarped and chained loads, moved trailers around his yard, and any else the boss wanted to do

Worked at local hardware/lumber yard busines during high school. Mostly boring being low man on totem pole.

Worked at local eye hospital for temporary contract as ophthlamic photographer. Interesting work. Got this job due to photo experience as high school photographer for yearbook/newspaper.
