armoredCAULK (RV) suggestions
I have some projects on my RV roof to do and I thought I would re-caulk many of the openings while I'm up there (front & rear caps, vents, seams).
My Motorhome has a white fiberglass roof.
I would need a paint-able product.
Have read that Silicone is a BIG NO NO!
I can buy in 10oz tubes or 20oz. sausage tubes.
Any suggestions for a NON Silicone caulk/sealant?

armoredNot sure, I have read many posts where silicone was specifically avoided.
I know that silicone and anything that will ever get painted by a body shop is taboo.

ulstermanDicor self leveling lap sealant.

rizzleI was told by a RV dealer to use rubberized sealant (like gutter sealer). Works good, but I didn't paint it, not sure if it can be painted.

wreckdiverUse white silicone and don't look back, it is the best sealer I have used. On the other hand, if you really need to paint it they make paintable with silicone, just pay attention to the labels.

OKCGeneAnd while you're at it, go buy some Butyl tape and a roll of Eternabond tape, stash it in the RV. It'll be there when you need it.
BTW Dicor, as mentioned above, is da bomb.

I have always had good luck with 3M products.
I would automatically go with 4000 or 4200.
I was surprised to read poor reviews of the 4000 (premature failure after about 1 year)The 4200 is not suggested for exposure to UV.
I also have heard of poor results from the Dicor.

nosticksNO NO NO to silicone. Don't even have a tube of it within 100 yards of your RV. I've had RV's since 1972. Dicor makes some of the best products. As for the mentioned Flex Seal, it's not been around enough to judge it's longevity.

BOATTRASH1I would never put 3M 4200 on anything I might need to remove later.
