Anything to do between Rockford, IL and O'Hare Airport?
I'm heading down to O'Hare to pick up my daughter at approximately 9 p.m. arrival time. Is there anything interesting to do between Rockford and the airport to kill a few hours? Obviously a good neighborhood, something tasty or fun and cheap to just kill some time. Thanks!

For the best pizza or hot dogs in the US, go to Lou Malnati's or Gene and Jude's. They are both within 30 minutes of O'Hare.
If you go to Malnati's, note that the thin is as good or better than the thicker one.
If you go to Gene and Jude's and like ketchup, you will have to bring your own.
If you're coming from Rockford via 90, there are several Malnati's locations to choose from that are on the way.
Gene and Jude's is SE of O'Hare at 2720 N. River Road, River Grove
For me it's a no brainer

There is a Cabelas right off 90 in Hoffman Estates. GAT Guns is also off 90 in East Dundee.

There used to be a couple strip clubs down that way.

Get off at Randal rd ( Elgin) and go north about 1 mile to Village Pizza. Best thin crust pizza. My wife and I drive there from Chicago because its that good, try the BQ sauce instead of pizza tomato sauce. Special bonus Tuesdays, large thin crust with up to 2 toppings is $10 bucks, Mai tai's are $3.
You may never make it to O'hare!

Stop and say "Hi!" to Jake and Elwood.
I've done that drive many times going to Rock Island.
My biggest challenge is not flooring it.
But it beats connecting into Moline.

Ended up at IKEA and Lou Malnati's in Schaumburg since we wanted to stay close to the airport. Thanks for the tips, maybe we'll try Village Pizza next time! This message has been edited. Last edited by: Outnumbered,
