Looks like an apple pie but has layers of apples and pumpkin.
My wife gets many requests for this pie starting in November and finally ending in January.
That sounds amazing. Is the recipe available?

Fruit pie. Apple, cherry, berries.

Pumpkin or sweet potato. My favorite was always the cinnamon sugar pie dough crackers fresh out of the oven because mom alway managed to make a little extra dough. A nice pecan a la mode is right up there too.

I need a recipe, so my wife can make me one
Mr. Peteroniman, I have my grandmother's recipe:
1/2 c butter (1 stick) 2 c sugar 3 eggs 1/4 teaspoon salt 3 Tablespoons flour 1 c buttermilk unbaked 9" pie crust (not deep dish) 1/2 c chopped pecans (optional)
Preheat oven to 300° Whip butter and sugar together with electric mixer until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each egg. In a separate bowl combine flour and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture. Using a wooden spoon stir in the buttermilk. Pour into pie crust. Bake 1 hour. (Optional: Sprinkle the pecans on top) and bake for another 30 min or until pie is a golden brown.
This is her recipe as it was written in her old cookbook. You don't have to use a wooden spoon to stir and of course the pecans are optional. Although this is how she always baked it. If you are eating healthy, this is not a low calorie, low fat, low cholesterol or low sugar pie

I've never been a fan of pecan pie, but anything else (apple, cherry, blueberry) is great. Pumpkin being my favorite.

Melt the cheese on top of the slice of pie.

Wife doesn't always make pie for Thanksgiving, but will occasionally make a Jello infused cheesecake that I really like. The flavor really depends on which jello she uses. My personal favorite is Peach.
