Tekonsha Prodigy iD Brake Controller - intermittent overload/short
I self-installed my brake controller and I’m wondering if anyone has any advice on troubleshooting an intermittent current overload (a short has also been indicated once). No fuses have blown. I just don’t want to catch anything on fire. Eek

Do you know if the short is on the power feed in from battery, or on the power feed that commands the brakes to energize. I would look for cut or worn wiring around the backing plates of the trailer. The main power to the battery should be a circuit breaker that resets itself.
Edit to add, quick look at the controller manual, they have a tech line number, I would try them. Problem is most likely in the trailer, could even be a magnet surface worn through, does the trailer have a lot of miles on it?
