Greetings,

I like Fall...in my neck of the woods, its a distinct season with nice changing of the colors, the air starts getting crisper, I can start wearing my Filson jackets and Stetson again, holidays are just around the corner.

And truth be told, on top of everything else, I have been absolutely beating myself like a rented mule with some unseasonably nicer weather trying to knock out several extra un-fun exterior projects. It's official, I do NOT exterior painting or water sealing, particularly by hand (roller/brush)...even rockin' the iPod on Shuffle Play (yes, I still have one...corded headphones and all), it still sucks.

So bring on Fall...including a couple rainy weekends where I could park it and read or binge watch a couple movies.

$.02 worth.

Got the wood stove fired up this morning, toasty inside. Looks like a great week weather wise around here this week, dry toward 70 later.

I plan to go heavy on yard work, mowing, outdoor for Winter preparation. I will sight in a 223 also, could be on an IL farm next weekend for a coyote hunt.

I’ve got some tires to rotate & plan at least a front brake job too.

This week it’s still in the 90’s. Next week however it shows some days in the 80’s and one with a high of 75. I don’t like wearing shorts, and I can’t wait for pants weather to come back.

The opposite of you, I have a couple Pavestone projects that have been on hold. It’s too damn hot to lug around a bunch of pavers, rock, sand, let alone work a shovel in this heat.

Shorter days and cooler here. Just no moisture to speak of. Really dry. Need a couple of days of good rain. Then burn season can start Wink

We finally go to highs in the 70s this week.

I've been sleeping with the windows open, and waking up to a house in the upper 50s. Perfect!

The last 3 weeks here in NTX have been amazing, it was 46 degrees yesterday morning. It has gotten into the 80s during the day but very low humidity....about perfect for Texas this time of year.

Still, I miss NW PA...the colors and the weather are amazing in the fall

Fall is my favorite season too. Most of us in northern latitudes wish for warm Indian Summer weather and we’re getting it; temps around 80° all week. This fall is different. The Mullen Fire continues to burn SW of Laramie. It has now crossed into Colorado and is at 150,000 acres and 14% containment. Depending on wind direction (of course) we’ve had days that are almost unbearable with heavy smoke conditions. A few days ago, the streetlights in Cheyenne turned on mid-afternoon! We need precipitation and cooler weather. No precip in sight.

Love this time of year, trees are still a few weeks away from full colors, but we did have a fire in the stove last week. Low was 37 and we just felt like having a nice toasty fire.

My trees are all changing and beginning to drop leaves. We’ve been in the 70’s and still dry. It is truly a beautiful time of the year.

Yep, about 50 deg. This morning. First few leaves are just starting to drop.

I've got a couple three more hours of outside projects in the next couple days...supposed to rain starting Friday. Other than the usual indoor chores, my plan is to park it give my body a chance to recoup a bit.

The high 70's have been the low here the last few weeks. Highs are around 110. I'm going to be glad when its in the 80's.

Fall is winding down in the Yoop. Snow already (didnt stick) in some places too. Most of the leaves are at peak color or will be for a couple more days.
