Classifieds question: Selling a large number of items Login/Join
The Ice Cream Man
posted
If I sold stuff on here, it’s been a decade or two, and I didn’t see a rule about this:

Do I make a post for each item, or are they all grouped in?

I have “collector fits” and buy absurd amounts of stuff, and then move on.

But do I list each watch/gun on its own? All the pistols in one post, watches in another, shotguns in another, rifles in their own, etc?

I’m ready to move on from a bunch of watches, and probably 10-20 guns.

I’d rather sell on here, than on a random board, but I figured I would post, and if an established member is interested, sell it to him/hold it for a reasonable amount of time, before I sell the guns somewhere else/put the watches on Chrono/ebay etc.

One thread only, list all items in that thread.
We will close it when you are finished
Go read the rules/sticky in the top of the classified section.
Don't list any where else as well.

Just because you can,
doesn't mean you should

There are a number of people that have sold a large number of items there.
I'd suggest scrolling through the first few pages of the classifieds to see how others have handled it before.
Definitely read the rules so you understand how both buyers and sellers are expected to respond. The rules have developed over time to protect both parties and seem to work well when followed.
Be sure to only deal with people that can send you an email to your posted address in your forum profile (they have to be a member to see that) and also confirm the response here on the forum ad page.
Anyone that contacts you directly by email but not here is likely a scammer.

Good.
It may work to your benefit as well as the benefit of other members.
Gunbroker has become more and more expensive with fees, expenses, and taxes.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

"The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth."

As much as it can be a pain in the ass, especially with as many items as you plan to sell, including pictures is a big help in marketing your stuff.

That rule is written as part of this "Guidelines and tips" thread.

Participation in the Classifieds section of this forum: The Classifieds section of this forum is provided as a courtesy for participating members. A participating member is someone who doesn't use the forum's bandwidth merely for the purposes of commerce. Any member who places ads in Classifieds is expected to contribute content to other sections of the forum. Because of recent scammer activity, it may be that before too long, there will be restrictions placed on new members using Classifieds, such as a minimum post count, or date of registration, or perhaps both of these things. Whatever may happen along those lines, we expect members who use Classifieds to demonstrate that they wish to be real members of this forum, participating in the discussions taking place in its various sections.

Please do not create multiple ads in Classifieds at one time; combine all items for sale into one single ad. You may bump your ad no more than once a day.

All items posted for sale must include a price. "Make me an offer" is not allowed. No auctions are allowed in Classifieds.

Items placed for sale in this forum should not be listed for sale anywhere else. All listings must be exclusive to this forum. Explained here: https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...0601935/m/3430091733

Additionally, members should refrain from commenting in the ads of other members unless they intend to conduct business with the creator of an ad, or they are considering conducting business with the creator of an ad. Never interfere with a member's ad. Any concerns or suspicions you may have about an ad or the creator of an ad should be conveyed to forum staff via the Report-This-Post function, which appears as the small yellow triangle in the lower right hand corner of every post. Using this function will cause an alert to be sent to the administrator. I assure you that your concerns will be taken seriously and the post or thread in question will be reviewed carefully.

Also, selling outside of Classifieds is strictly forbidden as is soliciting members to sell. Outside of Classifieds don't offer anything for sale, do not attempt to purchase anything from other members, or trade anything, etc. Along those lines, please do not post any links to active auctions.
