It's been an exasperating four days. Researching, texting, calling for many hours, eventually driving to stores, Then dealing with absolute morons. You would think I was asking to purchase a g.d. death star. Is a 55-65 Inch tv with a coax hookup ,phono rca plugs and a remote control with buttons larger than a tik tak too much to ask ? I've given up on the multi screen feature. I can swing $700.00 but that's the max. All this "progress" will be the death of me Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. If lack of RCA jacks is an issue, you can get an HDMI to RCA adapter for under $20. I’m sure you’ll find universal big button TV remotes for under $40 as well. This TCL Q7 is a nice 55” TV for $550. The 65” is $700 and what we bought for our house in Michigan. The TCL Q6 is probably pretty nice as well at $400 - 55” and $550 - 65”, but I don’t have any direct experience with them. I tried posting a link, but it wasn’t pointing to the right TVs. Best Buy has them at those prices, Amazon probably does as well. We bought ours from Amazon because the nearest Best Buy was 200 miles away.

Here's something I found in 10 minutes. A TCL 55" 4K LED/LCD TV. Has an antennae/coax input connection, RCA inputs for composite video (yellow) and L/R audio (red & white). A remote that looks like a toy. 350 bucks. https://www.amazon.com/TCL-Cla...a4-dc28e6d374b3&th=1 ![]() ![]() "I’m not going to read Time Magazine, I’m not going to read Newsweek, I’m not going to read any of these magazines; I mean, because they have too much to lose by printing the truth"- Bob Dylan, 1965

I saw the tcl's on Amazon also, The remotes suck but I might have to try that. I've never had any luck at all with "universal " remotes though Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. Neck Ties, Hats and ammo brass, Never ,ever touch'em w/o asking first

This is not a current model (probably 2 models old), not sold by Amazon, and two levels below the 55” TCL Q6 series. The current version of this model is $270 and the picture is not nearly as good as the Q6 series. The Q6 series does not have RCA inputs built in, however, it does have a 3.5mm A/V input which when used with a $10 3.5mm to RCA adapter will provide the exact same functionality.
You are quite welcome. ![]()

We had an older TV die this past summer. It was replaced with a 55" ONN brand from Walmart. As you say, the remote buttons are tiny. This unit has Roku built in, so the remote has less buttons compared to a non Roku TV. It has coaxial and RCA inputs, along with 3 or 4 HDMI inputs. It even is equipped with some RCA outputs, for connection to a sound bar or home theater receiver. It's also set up for built in screen mirroring from a handheld device. For $199, they cannot be beat. We have been quite satisfied with the purchase. As a bonus, if you registered the TV with the ONN website, they added another year to the one year warranty. Can you expound a bit more on this adapter thing please. What am I doing with it where? And what is the radio shack # ? Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. Yes, sir. 3.5mm to female RCA adapter ( $3.99 link): ![]() 3.5mm to male RCA adapter ( $5.99, 5 foot, link): ![]() Jack panel on a TCL Q6: ![]() The 3.5mm male TRRS plug of either of the adapters above will plug into the yellow female TRRS jack located under the coax jack on the TCL Q6’s jack panel. The jack on this TV is an input for connecting a VCR as an example. The red and white RCAs are right and left audio channels and the yellow is the composite video. If you need outputs for running the TV’s sound to a receiver, there is a solution for that as well. You can use similar adapters as the ones in the pictures above, except they will just have the red and white RCAs and you’ll plug them into the headphone jack which is located under the AV input jack on the W6’s jack panel. You could also use the optical audio output located under the headphone jack if your receiver has an optical audio input. You’ll need an optical cable for that.

We've got a house full of TCLs at this point. I think x4 so far. No issues and for the price you get a lot of picture. If one of them crapped out. I'd replace it with another. Train how you intend to Fight Remember - Training is not sparring. Sparring is not fighting. Fighting is not combat.

I concur that the mid-to-upper tier TCL TVs represents the best "bang for the buck" in cheaper entry level TVs. A 65" Q6 can be had for $500. Or if you want a bump up in picture quality, a 65" Q7 comes in right at your $700 budget. TCL's tv's are a good deal, plenty of great prices if you are an Amazon Prime member with deal days going on, you can even get a 75 inch tv in your budget of sub $700, the 55 is $369. You will need the AV adapter listed above for that connection but everything else is what you specified. The remotes on these are small, but there are few buttons to deal with and you'll be able to use it easily. Link We have the ROKU tv from Costco, it's similar, the remote is the same, TCL is using the ROKU format for the smart TV functions. Costco has a sale on, the Hisense ROKU 55 is $269, it has the connections you want including the RCA jacks on the back. The one we have has a great picture for it's price point. Heck you can get a Sony for sub $700. Or go TCL/Hisense/Roku and go bigger for $700. Link Costco Curious, why the RCA plugs, what are you connecting it to, sound bar, receiver, if so check to see if they take an optical connection, that would open up more TV options for you, today everything is optical or HDMI, less wires, better quality.

While TCL TVs used to be primarily Roku-based, they have switched to using Google TV or Fire TV for most of their latest models in the last year or two. The ones that are currently on sale through Amazon Prime are (not surprisingly) the ones based around Amazon's own Fire TV software.

I could be wrong, but I don’t believe bendable will be using the smart features. We have four TCLs bought at different times. At the time of each purchase, each represented what I felt was the best value in its price range for the intended purpose. We have two 50”, one 55”, and one 65”; one 4 series, one 5 series, one 6 series and the latest is a Q7. We have both Roku and Google OSs. The two smaller ones are the 4 and 5 series in each of my boys bedrooms hooked to their gaming systems. They didm’t cost a ton and they are good enough for my boys. The 6 series is in the family room and gets more use. It has a really nice picture and is a big step up from the 4 and 5 series. For a main TV, it’s worth to price differential over the 4 or 5. The Q7 is our main TV in Michigan, it’s picture is even better than the Q6 (current 6 series). I paid $850 for the 65” Q7 in June, so $700 now is a good deal, but right at the top of bendable’s budget. At now $480 at Best Buy, the 65” Q6 is under budget and leaves room for a better remote and the adapters to get the RCA jacks. One thing that also should be considered is what the TV will be sitting on. They don’t come with center stands. Two of ours are wall mounted and the other two are on furniture long enough to accommodate the side mounts stands. Of you don’t want to wall mount or what your TV is sitting on isn’t wide enough, you’ll have to buy a separate center stand. This message has been edited. Last edited by: trapper189,

Gotcha, As stated, if you get the lower cost TCL/Hisense units, a 55 for $300 to $500 depending on the level you select. With an average $400 price point you can buy a lot of connectors they make a RCA to HDMI converter for $14 which is how I'd go, easy to connect to one of the HDMI ports on any new tv and you eliminate the RCA requirement RCA to HDMI Converter The ROKU app has a free TV app receiver program, it will pick up a ton of TV channels for you so a smart TV will get you quite a bit of content access, Prime TV, Netflix, etc. Either way, TCL, Hisense are good ways to go, one is ROKU other is Amazon Fire based, both easy to use.
