Searching for a video I believe I saw on here or another forum; premise was the motorcyclist was riding, possibly with an open carry piece and had his gopro cam on, wasn't doing anything crazy just riding. Marked cruiser pulls a lazy U-turn stops behind the motorcyclist, who had pre-emptively pulled over for the LEO. The officer approaches him and first words out of the LEO's mouth were something like "I love it when civilians carry" and I can't recall the rest. Anyone recall seeing a video like that recently? I cannot for the life of me find it on YT/Google/Duck. Thanks!

too mean to quit!

My comment has nothing to do with the video. It does, however, have to do with carrying.

Several years ago wife and I were driving out to Dulles air port.

Got pulled over by a state cop. No reason for him to pull us over. I was kind of leery of him, but courteous when he approached the car.

Don't have any idea how he knew I had CHL, but his question indicated that he did.

Asked what I was carrying, said he thought it was a great carry weapon. He was carrying a S&W revolver. We chatted a bit about such things, wished each other a good and safe day and off we went.

Haha I would say your comment has a lot to do with the video in the sense that many LEOs support the 2A and as long as I am friendly and respectful to them, they may very well end up chatting with me about guns (happened once in the 2 times that I got pulled over). Thanks for sharing, very cool!

That deserves a repeat. Common sense and a bit of respect goes a long way to making encounters like these almost painless.

Pretty sure in VA your CCW shows on your vehicle registration screen when a cop runs your plate, so they know when they approach your car. I was never asked about it there, but volunteered it a few times when the gun was in my glovebox, on top of my paperwork.

That reminds me of a story my nephew told of being pulled over on his snowmobile last week. He was in what as known as the poorest county in MI, but also has awesome trials and rivers. Apparently he was smiling when he took off his helmet and the DNR officer told him, "You're not from around here are you." Big Grin
It sounded like they had nice chat.
