Ha! Seem like a pretty good sport throughout it all but there is some definite “faces/rolleyes” in there! "Pacifism is a shifty doctrine under which a man accepts the benefits of the social group without being willing to pay - and claims a halo for his dishonesty." ~Robert A. Heinlein

Hat's off to Ramsey for getting out there and doing it. And that pork did look good both pre and post cooking. Damn, now I what ribs.... ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Every man should have several guns. Husband, Father, Aggie, all around good guy! |
I have watched a few of his shows where he embeds with a local in a new place and learns to cook the local cuisine. For a celebrity chef he is not hesitant to kill what he is going to cook. He didnt add any commentary that was anti hunting, shooting etc.. He earned my respect. If I had property I would certainly invite him to a hunt if he would cook it!!! HK Ag

On his show Uncharted he’s taken game numerous times. I like that show and the kiddie Masterchefs. Everything else is really Hollywood

I enjoyed the Euro or UK versions of Kitchen Nightmares, from maybe 10 yrs or more ago, much much better than any of the Hollyood/US/Drama versions, he show 'The F word' where he did have the various chefs working on meals for a restaurant, was interspersed with some good stuff from the UK as well, he had Janet Street Porter as a regular, and she was promoting the benefits of Horse Meat on one episode https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

I wonder if Chef Ramsay has made and “Idiot sandwiches” recently? __________ "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy."

Get my pies outta the oven! |
This 1000% His early UK shows were great They only dialed up the “screaming asshole chef” thing after he came to the US and it became his schtick.

He may be an asshole, but he started by cooking fish and chips in merry old, I am told. And, he's one of the hardest working people on television. He's irksome, but has a work ethic many younger folks need to learn.

He’s a very old school chef but only an asshole to people that are idiots and/or incompetent. He worked his way up under notoriously tyrannical British chef Marco Pierre White who was legendary for his temper and throwing things, I recall reading how Ramsay used to get a stomach ache before each shift from the stress of having to face this guy who would have made Gunny Hartman cry. If you work your ass off and know what you’re doing, he’s actually not an asshole, he’s hard and demanding for sure but the whole schtick of him being this giant raging douche is just that; a schtick.

You made this too easy. He can take his schtick and shove it up his ass. "I'm sorry, did I break your concentration"?

The problem is, That Schtick is what the restaurant industry is trying to kick into the dustbin of history. That Schtick has resulted in higher than average substance abuse, harassment, assault and suicides, then most industries/professions. His Devil in the Kitchen persona (name of Pierre White's biography BTW) was only developed when he signed with Fox Television in the US; his UK produced programing was quite good and one of the best food insight shows at the time. Despite Master Chef being a worldwide franchise, when it comes to food programing in the US, its second tier compared to Top Chef.
