Welcome to Milo’s Cantina. We serve tequila and sleeper holds, and we're all out of tequila...

Here at Milo's Cantina we have a unique relationship with our customers. After an evening enjoying our Taco's and Tequila, when presented with the bill we allow you to pay with Cash, Credit-card or a Choke-hold.

Our motto: When you tap-out, we let you out.

That bouncer was spoiling for a fight from the start of the video, getting himself jacked up, some pretty heavy posturing too. He more or less wound himself up the same way for a round 2. That manager needs a new profession, she isn't cut out for that business.

No way would I come to the defense of the bar's actions that was shown on the video (the bouncer and manager). That said, since the dude who was tossed to the floor refused to press charges, and this... [my emphasis]

quote:
... Boyce said he and friends first ordered a flight of tequilas for $200 and a second round at $40. ...

“We had been trying to leave and refused the second round of drinks. They were getting rude with us,” said Boyce. “We asked for shirts to support the businesses. We are very big on supporting all local businesses.” He said the manager was rude. “I paid my bill and said you’re very rude all we did was ask for T-shirts,” he said.

According to a post from Jade Boyce’s Facebook page, her husband, short of cash, wanted to go outside and get more cash for the balance and the manager and staff regarded the situation as if Mike Boyce was not going to pay.

Mike Boyce told the Journal he paid the bill of $280.

Sure, the bill was probably paid after the video ended, but I'm telling ya... we're not getting a huge part of the story.

Evil exists. You can not negotiate with, bribe or placate evil. You're not going to be able to have it sit down with Dr. Phil for an anger management session either.

The lack of clarity in a simple news article is absurd.

I bet they came to a hasty settlement and dropping the charges was a condition of the settlement. In any case, it will cost them way more than the $40...

THIS!!!!!!
I am guessing the patron got a very healthy cash payment.

Bar owner was smart from the beginning to make no comments.
Any further actions taken by the patron would most certainly bring a huge fine from whoever handles liquor licenses for the area if not having it revoked completely.

I'm still trying to figure out why a place that is so popular that is has a whopping 5 customers needs a "bouncer".

You've obviously never been to Poughkeepsie. Wink

If your bar requires a goon bouncer - find another bar.

With respect to criminal charges, isn’t it up to the prosecutor whether or not to bring charges? Sure the victim can say that they don’t want charges and won’t cooperate, but can the victim drop criminal charges? With respect to any civil case, then sure it is up to the victim (plaintiff).

Anyway, I agree that we aren’t getting the whole story. Some people find trouble more than others and perhaps the victim is one of those people.

Would insurance end up paying that settlement?

Technically yes.
But that is likely a misdemeanor assault, if that based upon the victims injuries or lack there of.
But with the victim wanting nothing done it is certainly not worth the time and effort.

I could not imagine that happening if someone was trying to walk out of a Jewelry store with a diamond ring.
Sounds like high prices for drinks too. $200 for a round of drinks.

That’s basically what I thought. Thanks.

this is one reason that videos suck,

yes it looks like the bouncer was 98% in the way ! wrong.

but we don't know any back story.

chances are the l.e.o.'s wouldn't even roll out for a $16.00 bar drink and slink bill.

but after five years of bouncing I am guessing
the guy won't go back to that place to drink and pull the same trick.

Reminds me of many moons ago, ok many many many moons ago, when I was 19 and a few buddies and I went to a local nightclub. My buddy was a tank, a beast of a human being we called Wrecking Ball Paul.

Anyway long story short this wanna be bouncer got all stupid and ol Paul beat his ass like a 10cent drum. This guy thought he was Billy Bad Ass himself, and got put down hard. So the moral of the story is, bouncers who feel invincible may sooner or later be taught a lesson.

Funny thing was Paul was a very mellow dude, but he was missing a chromosome or something, he was just not human, he was the most solid pain resistant dude I ever met. Just a huge monster of a human, like a shaved gorilla. Super nice guy though, hilarious.

Don't weep for the stupid, or you will be crying all day
