Neat-O Anniversary Gift From My Beautiful Wife
I’ve had patients who fell, probably due to stroke, and who have lain for hours alone. That can cause pressure bruising of muscles, with release of myoglobin from muscle into the bloodstream; in turn that can clog up the kidneys and cause kidney failure—the medical term is “rhabdomyolysis”.
Now that my wife and I are playing in the fourth quarter of a century of life, we are reading SigForum in a different way. Instead of deciding what gun to buy, we read the threads on fall alert devices and Costco hearing aids.
But at least we’re on the right side of the grass.

Does it have this fall detection? If you fall and you can't get it out of your pocket, it becomes separated from your hand or you fainted or hit your head and are unconscious, I can't see how it would work without it.

It's certainly better than nothing, but something with fall detection and automatic calling would be best.

That is what happened to me. Possibly triggered by statins. Spent a week in the hospital on fluids. Could not get out of the hospital bed for five days. Pretty unpleasant and painful. An apple watch would have helped as I could not get to my phone. Luckily it was not a stroke.
