I’m thinking elongated, extra height, slow close lid and 1.6 gal/flush.
I see a lot of 1.28 gal/flush and some odd new designs on flush valves. Help me not make a selection mistake.

aileronWe have Toto's in one home and Kohler in the the other - both work great but parts for the Toto are hard to source

comet24Never used a Toto. I know alot of people like them although my brother put one in wishes he had gone with something else.
We use mostly Kohler but will also use American Standard.
1.6 gal may limit your options these days.
I wouldn't worry too much about the lid it comes with you can replace it with a slow close.

HRKKohlers, well made in USA, parts are easy to come by locally or online any day of the week
Taller, longer bowl and more capacity all the things you need in a crapper!

I believe the Ferguson comment may have been a reference to a "Married, With Children" episode. Al Bundy preferred a Fergy.

BluecobraAmerican Standard optum Vormax - "nobody likes a clinger". We put 2 in when we redid the bathrooms and they work great.

MikeGLII installed a Vormax during a renovation at my townhouse. I have two toilets here. When I renovate my master bath, probably in early 2021, I'm replacing BOTH toilets with TOTO.
Take that for what it's worth.

flesheatingvirusAll of ours are Sterlings with the dual flush buttons and soft close seats. No complaints so far. 0.8 or 1.6 gpf depending on which button you press. It made sense to use less water to flush after a taking a #1.

BurtonRWI’ve been toilet shopping for months and I’m about to drop some serious coin on three Toto Carlyle IIs. I really like Toto’s flush system / bowl design. No perforated rim to keep clean. Also, the fully skirted trapway and one-piece form factor is also much easier to keep clean.
