The Trump Presidency

JALLENThe Trump Presidency
Has anyone seen any letter or other eriting detailing the refusal of the DOJ to respond to a Congressional subpoena with the justifications therefor?
I can imagine there are some good and proper reasons, like classified documents, or revealing ongoing investigations, which are both probably over used. Since they won’t reveal investigations, the DOJ/FBI can say that about most anything. If nothng else, they can start an investigation if there is some issue they don’t want to talk about.
I don’t believe in inevitable good faith in these dealings, either.
So, are there any responses on paper other than “we ain’t gonna?”
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown January 04, 2018, 07:56 PM

oddballEven though they officially say it is not for leaks, I would say the ban will make leaks to "news sources" more difficult.
I say bravo. They are doing what I would do.

sdyFBI launches new Clinton Foundation investigation
http://thehill.com/homenews/ca...dation-investigationThe Justice Department has launched a new inquiry into whether the Clinton Foundation engaged in any pay-to-play politics or other illegal activities while Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State, law enforcement officials and a witness tells The Hill.
FBI agents from Little Rock, Ark., where the Foundation was started, have taken the lead in the investigation and have interviewed at least one witness in the last month, and law enforcement officials said additional activities are expected in coming weeks.
The officials, who spoke only on condition of anonymity, said the probe is examining whether the Clintons promised or performed any policy favors in return for largesse to their charitable efforts or whether donors made commitments of donations in hopes of securing government outcomes.
The probe may also examine whether any tax-exempt assets were converted for personal or political use and whether the Foundation complied with applicable tax laws, the officials said.
The Wall Street Journal reported late last year that several FBI field offices, including the one in Little Rock, had been collecting information on the Clinton Foundation for more than a year. The report also said there had been pushback to the FBI from the Justice Department.
Officials also said the Justice Department was re-examining whether there are any unresolved issues from the closed case into Hillary Clinton's transmission of classified information through her personal email server
A senior law enforcement official said Justice was exploring whether any issues from that probe should be re-opened but cautioned the effort was not at the stage of a full investigation.
One challenge for any Clinton-era investigation is that the statute of limitations on most federal felonies is five years and Clinton left office in early 2013.
edit: feersum dreadnaught also posted this article in the Clinton email thread. Seems germane to both threads

sdy http://www.foxnews.com/politic...or-bank-records.htmlA federal judge Thursday denied a request by Fusion GPS to void a House Intelligence Committee subpoena to provide bank records as part of the committee’s investigation into Russian activities during the 2016 election campaign.
U.S. District Judge Richard Leon found Fusion's objections to the subpoena to be "unavailing" and denied the research firm's request for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction that would have prevented it from handing over the documents.

justjoeMy wishes for 2018:
That the Republican Party will finally see which way the wind blows and actively support President Trump.
That we may be treated to the magnificent spectacle of Hillary and Bill Clinton, Huma Abedin, Barack Obama, Loretta Lynch, James Comey, and a passel of FBI and CIA agents, frog marched off to prison in orange jump suits.
That more of the perverts in the entertainment industry and the media be exposed for their sexual transgressions and hypocrisy, especially those on the biggest soap boxes, like Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, and Robert DiNero.
That two of the most divisive, destructive frauds be exposed and blow up in a million pieces: "Global Warming," (by whatever name), and the race hustlers in BLM, academia, politics, and the media. There are no "causes" here. Those that drive these agendas are not even out to destroy America's economy, or push a race war. They are just out to make money and grab power for themselves. Destroying the economy and race war would just be by-products.
What are your wishes as we head into the second full year of the Trump presidency?

cne32507The Wall vs. Path to Citizenship.
Congressional Democrats will hold the Wall funding and immigration reform hostage in exchange for a path to citizenship (read: new voters.) What do we want Trump to do? Can the Democrats stop the Wall and reform? Make a deal? Stand firm? No Wall? No immigration reform? Of course, we want him to win. But how?

PASigI read this morning that the Clintons have had like 3 or 3 "fires" at that location since moving in there. Something is afoot here.

Check out the first ~9 minutes of
Laura Ingraham's show from last night.
I think she did and good job of capturing / summarizing why President Trump is so successful and popular, and why he resonates with Joe and Jane America.
I also found it interesting what Roger Stone had to say about President MAGA starting at about the 5:15 mark.

It doesn’t work that way in America. We are not ruled by unelected bureaucrats, police forces, or intelligence agencies. In America, We The People ELECT officials who govern.
You know, having all these Clinton guys on the inside of the FBI/Mueller team is really very little different than having made men in the FBI working on the Mob investigations, back when they did that stuff, like Joe Pistone types even.

Exactly my thinking all along...how can the truth come out with partisan democrats and Clinton moles in charge?
