President Donald J. Trump Proclaims May 15, 2017, as Peace Officers Memorial Day and May 14 through May 20, 2017, as Police Week

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

A PROCLAMATION

During Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week, we honor the men and women of law enforcement who have been killed or disabled in the course of serving our communities. Police officers are the thin blue line whose sacrifices protect and serve us every day, and we pledge to support them as they risk their lives to safeguard ours.

Last year, 118 officers died in the line of duty, and of those, 66 were victims of malicious attacks. These attacks increased by nearly 40 percent from 2015. This must end. That is why one of my first actions was to direct the Department of Justice to develop a strategy to better prevent and prosecute crimes of violence against our Federal, State, tribal, and local law enforcement officers.

In addition, my Administration will continue to further the efforts of the Department of Justice to improve the lives of law enforcement officers and their families. This includes supporting the Officer Safety and Wellness Group, which improves officer safety on the job, and accelerating the processing of benefits through the Public Safety Officers' Benefits Program, which provides vital resources to the families of fallen officers.

Our liberties depend on the rule of law, and that means supporting the incredible men and women of law enforcement. By a joint resolution approved October 1, 1962, as amended (76 Stat. 676), and by Public Law 103-322, as amended (36 U.S.C. 136 and 137), the President has been authorized and requested to designate May 15 of each year as "Peace Officers Memorial Day" and the week in which it falls as "Police Week."

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim May 15, 2017, as Peace Officers Memorial Day and May 14 through May 20, 2017, as Police Week. In humble appreciation of our hard-working law enforcement officers, Melania and I will light the White House in blue on May 15. I call upon all Americans to observe Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week with appropriate ceremonies and activities. I also call on the Governors of the States and Territories and officials of other areas subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, to direct that the flag be flown at half-staff on Peace Officers Memorial Day. I further encourage all Americans to display the flag at half-staff from their homes and businesses on that day.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this fifteenth day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand seventeen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-first.

DONALD J. TRUMP

Just when I think I couldn't be more proud of our President he does something like the Peace Officers Memorial Day.
Look at the difference this man makes in our culture and values over what we have suffered through over a long eight years.
We are blessed with the change of pace and the GDC's will do everything they can to change it back.

We won't stand by and let that happen.

I'm only posting this as another example of the MSM's unyielding feeding frenzy when it comes to Trump. One small kernel of potentially negative news and they go into full attack mode, spinning stories that are void of any objectivity or journalistic integrity. Worthless hacks preaching to their fan base. CNN's got nothing on the National Enquirer these days.

**Edit: CNN altered the video and original story on the above link. The original was quite aggressive and very much an attack piece. There must have been some realization that they were too exposed with their garbage. My criticism of them still stands.

I am so thankful for a President who honors law enforcement officers!

So how do these "people in the know" release this much information without being found out? Seriously, there are 10 or so people in the room during these meetings, surely they are not dumb enough to open their mouths?

I hear there are many highly rewarding, highly remunerated positions for journalists willing to cover the drug trade in Mexico. No need to be bilingual, no previous experience necessary, previous knowledge of tongue tacos desirable.

There is a ticket into the big time here. Remember Woodward and Bernstein, two police beat reports who got credit for bringing down Nixon, now famous, wealthy, invited to all the great parties, played in the movies by Redford and Whatzizname. This is the big show. It doesn't get any better than this for "journalists."

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Laptop issue was reported extensively in the media back in March. Not even remotely 'classified'.

The nerve of them. Robbie Mook, Clinton Campaign manager on the TV today saying how Trump is so dangerous because of leaking classified information. Does he not realize how much of a stupid liar he looks like? Hillary gave up tons of actual classified information because of her emails but he's sitting there saying how dangerous Trump is. Disgusting.

I hate having to do a blackout of CNN but I just cannot stomach them anymore. This recent non scandal leak crap is just more of the same bullshit. CNN was hysterical before Trump was even in office. They are just so damn awful. But what REALLY gets me is the god damned fucking back stabbing republicans who jump on the wagon to stab Trump in the back as soon as possible. Obama cleared out his party of moderates and blue dog democrats much to their parties detriment so maybe a little clashing here and there is ok. But it can be annoying.

The media and cable TV is absolute garbage. Most of these articles online appear to be cooked up scandals used as click bait to attract rabid liberals and give em false hope that Trump will be impeached.

^^^^ Yup. And that's putting it nicely.

Here's another example of the Clinton News Network's collusion with the Clintons and the Democrat Party, one that completely explains the "legs" on the Russians-Hacked-The-Election nonsense: LINK

IT’S OVER: Wikileaks Nukes the Trump-Russia Story From Orbit, Leaves Only Planetary Debris

#FakeNews media, quarterbacked by CNN, continue to market the "Russia hacked the election" meme, 24x7.

If I'm in an airport, it's certain that CNN is droning on, using the same comedians comedians lightweights that completely missed the Trump phenomenon.

And all of this despite more than a dozen officials (of both party affiliations) who have publicly stated there was no Russia-Trump collusion.

Well, Wikileaks has just published an excerpt of the book Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton's Doomed Campaign. It's by a bunch of Democrat insiders. And it's stunning.

I'll cut to the chase: within 24 hours of their crushing election defeat, Hillary Clinton and her campaign aides created the "Russia hacked the election" meme from whole cloth. Yes, it's true:

So... the clownish dolt John ("What's your password?") Podesta and, presumably, the rocket scientist Chelsea Clinton concocted the entire myth from thin air.

The real story is not the sci-fi thriller these crapweasels invented. It's that they coordinated with their legacy media counterparts to sell it like a long-running infomercial.

And that Democrats were willing to risk an international conflict with Russia to paper over their political loss.

Fortunately, this bogus crap has overcooked so long, normal Americans have tuned completely out.

And, at this point, CNN's slogan shouldn't be "Fake News", it should be "Political Sci-Fi Done Right".

Thanks,

Sap

I'm not sure how you have done it from before the election. I watch 0 news channels. I get it online from here and articles on various sites (included Yahoo's retarded self). At least with liberal articles on yahoo, I can comment and let them know how inaccurate, wrong, and stupid they are depending on the content.

Which is really puzzling why anyone here would even watch CNN for any reason other than laughs. I haven't "seriously" watched them in decades.

Now tuning in for a bit of late night election coverage when Trump won was pure entertainment. That was the last time (and the only time) I tuned in...

When last night's news reports kept saying "highly classified" info was shared, did anyone else catch how similar it sounded to "fully loaded high power assault rifle"? It could just be me, but the over exaggeration was painful.

All of the mainstream news outlets have been ridiculous and untrustworthy for years.

It pisses me off to have to watch more than a few minutes of any of them.
