Damn it. Wish he had not.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions removed himself from investigations into Russian interference in American politics and contacts with associates of President Donald Trump, after the Justice Department acknowledged he had contacts with the Russian ambassador during the 2016 campaign.

“I have decided to recuse myself from any existing or future investigations of any matters related in any way to the campaigns for president of the United States,” Sessions said Thursday in a written statement as he opened a press conference in Washington.

In removing himself, Sessions put acting Deputy Attorney General Dana Boente in charge of leading any election-related investigation. Boente previously served as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. While Boente was nominated for the Virginia post by former President Barack Obama, Trump’s team chose Boente to serve as acting deputy after firing Sally Yates, an Obama administration holdover who refused to enforce the president’s controversial travel ban from seven mostly Muslim countries.

Well you hammer long enough you fracture the rock. Sessions has recused himself from any investigation that the Trump campaign may have had contact with the Russians.

So guess who takes his place as lead investigator none other than Deputy Attorney General Dana Boente an Obama appointee.

As little as it may seem there is now blood in the water on Sessions. The supposed powerless dems who control nothing have seemed to have smuggled a shank into the prison and are drawing their share of blood.

The left is out of control. Trump, his administration, and the republicans need to absolutely STOP addressing any of this. Period. When asked a question, reply "these leaks are illegal and we will not answer any questions pertaining to them". Who cares what the left does then? Think it will stop if the questions are answered? Nope.

Just continue to push the agenda and ignore everything else. Getting dragged into this crap is what they are hoping for. Don't give it to them. The ONLY people who care about this crap is the left. The people who voted for Trump care about their jobs and their health care.

Focus on what THE PEOPLE want, not what the left wants.

This whole Russian thing is absurd. Frankly I am disgusted with the vaunted FBI and CIA. This has become a major issue w zero evidence presented to the American people.

Now we have the AG recusing himself because of barking DEMs.

Running from a barking dog just makes him chase you more.

What about Bill Clinton negotiating and colluding on the tarmac with the past AG?
This Russian shit is getting out of hand.
Nothing to it and the MSM keeps propping it up.

I actually think it was a smart play for Sessions to recuse himself. Not because I think there is anything to the allegations, but because he basically took away the democrats entire complaint. They never really wanted him to recuse himself, they wanted him to stay in his position during the investigation while they endlessly called for him to recuse himself, so they could cry "Look how corrupt!" . They would have LOVED to talk about how "tainted" the investigation was had he stayed. Now, they have nothing to bitch about, and the job will still get done, and all accusations will be proven false. I actually think its quite a smart move.

Yes... I agree. He's a smart guy. Playing it right.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

This will end when or if Trump purges every left over Obama loyalists from every corner of the government especially those with any access to any level of intelligence.

Sessions diffused nothing by recusing himself the clamor will only intensify even more now.
More leaks will be forthcoming.

This is what happens when you let the left off the hook like Trump did with Hillary. There should be a full blown investigation going on right now that would have many of these lefty's scrambling on the defense rather than being allowed to mount this offense.

I for one was extremely disappointed when Trump said the Clinton's are nice people and I don't want to hurt them.
The Clinton's like all the communist left are the same kind of snake. When you have your boot heel on the head you better crush it or it will surely bite you for being merciful.

The FBI and DoJ are going to probe meetings that a U.S. Senator had with a Russian ambassador in the normal conduct of his senatorial duties? Are they actually serious about this?

This is true - the left is already clamoring for his resignation, the NYT is already running an editorial calling for it and every media outlet will be chiming in with them calling for his scalp. If he were to resign, the next huge media push would be for his prosecution.

There is no appeasing the left and their friends in the media.

It is called "blood in the water" for a reason.

Bad move by Sessions. Implies guilt to people who are confused by what is going on.

Jeff Sessions was the number one person the DEMs wanted to stop from getting his cabinet position.

Recusing himself sends the message that there is something "there".

Best way to fight nonsense is to call it nonsense and act like it is nonsense. Project a consistent bold defiant attitude.

DEMs aren't seeking justice and truth, they are after a scalp. Treat them accordingly.

long article by Limbaugh. right on.

https://www.rushlimbaugh.com/d...f-the-united-states/

This story is not about Jeff Sessions. This story is not about illegal talks between Trump and his campaign people and the Russians. This story is about Barack Obama and the Democrat Party attempting to sabotage the Trump presidency and do everything they can to either render it meaningless and ineffective or to get him impeached or force him to resign. That’s what the story is. And that is what has to be attacked, not defended .

Huge mistake. Absolutely enormous victory for the left. First the general, now Sessions. He is on the defensive and will probably be forced to resign within the year. Then they will target others and finally Trump. What other stories will they make up? The left will have Sessions recusing himself from every DOJ investigation within months.

I am extremely disappointed in Sessions. The best defense is a good offense, even in politics. Trump proved this. Recusing youself over lies is no offense.

Remember Holder? He was found in contemp of congress! What did he do? Deny, deny, deny. And nothing happened. He won.

Full disclosure whenever/wherever its possible...

Sessions should have disclosed long ago that he met Russian representative just to keep it clean for future discovery. They are so afraid of media and democrats they can't come clean..this is really hurting efforts to move ahead...

If any other Trumps people have grey issues revolving around questionable meetings no matter how inauspicious they should just divulge it. Democrats and there spies will reveal it to democrats best advantage otherwise.

Nope. Not how it works with the left. If you raise a white flag hoping to get quarter, they will slay you the moment you poke your head out. Until people realize this the left will ALWAYS win.
