I know we've talked about this in the past more than once, but these things change over time and I'm not up on this subject.

Where is a good place to advertise guns for sale for securing competetive prices, that are solid and safe compared to other ways of doing so on-line. How is the best way to handle person to FFL, or FFL to FFL transfers, and are there any pay-for transfer services for firearms that can handle competent and secure shipping, insurance, and legal FFL transfer ?

I'm noticing lately that although my guns are ageless, I'm not. It's funny how you don't think like that when you're young. But I guess that's the way it should be, the last thing you want to think about when you're young is not being young. I guess accomplished and energetic old rich people just raise hell to the end, but I'm not one of those.

It's time to downsize and simplify, less stress I think, at least for me. I think I would feel better simplifying things so that when the time comes I can more relax, so to speak. Not expecting anything like that soon, but you never know, esp. w/all my mitigating health factors etc.

Any and all advice appreciated.

Are we talking one gun? 500? Neat to you but meh collectibility or are we talking a special selection of guns formerly owned by various war heros with proof to match?

Here is a great place if you want to, but there are good alternatives for big collections. And it would help a bit to know the state you live in.

Yeah, if you know what you’re selling and you know what it’s worth and it isn’t too many transactions… why not offer it here?

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Some may not like the answer, but in the past I went through several herd thinning occurrences and used gun broker to good effect. A local dealer I took the guns to was a regular seller there, and he took at the time 20% of the selling price. Sounds like a scalp but even with the 20% off the top every single gun I sold I got more and in some cases much more than I had into them, I didn’t have to deal with listing them, taking photos, making appointments with potential buyers, weeding out tire kickers and so on. I think I sold roughly 50 guns through this guy, and only one ( ironically for this crowd a sig p220 9mm) did I take a slight loss on. Some were guns I bought in one case for $300, shot the snot out of, and got $1300 for it when sold.

Also as I understand it UPS and fedex have internal policies now that make it near impossible for a private seller to ship a gun.

Also this was back when I lived in New York and you needed a well documented paper trail on pistols to have them removed from your registration file/ hand gun permit

I'm in the same situation. My LGS consigns them off via Gunbroker, mostly using the auction feature. He takes fifteen percent, but like was stated earlier, I still usually get more than I could have sold them for myself. Of course, he's set up with a mini photo studio, shipping contracts, etc so it works out well. Next week I get paid for four that sold recently. I have to wait for payment (unless it's CC) and a five day customer inspection period, but I'm in no real hurry. I just want to spare my wife the hassle of disposing of my guns when I'm dead. I'll keep a dozen or so, and rotate thru them, selling and buying and keeping a stable handful that I shoot regularly.

List them here, if you have a reasonable LGS to ship from then that will help, what doesn't sell, put on GunBroker, what's left, sell to your LGS..
