In N Out was what McDonalds used to be in 1960s. Those dismayed by the limited menu, it is why their quality is better than all of the other fast food burger joints; they concentrate on burgers alone. I like their fries, extra crispy (you can special order them), animal style (cheese, grilled onions, and sauce).

I don't go to a burger place for the fries, in fact I'll skipp/pass the fries, don't need the filler. If someone is getting worked-up because the fries aren't that good, then order another burger. That's like going to a barbecue pit/stand and complaining that the sides aren't so good so, best to skip the place. You're there for the main event, the burger.

In-N-Out cheeseburger Animal Style with chopped chilis is heaven.

Their fries? Hard pass unless they are doctored up with lots of ketchup or Animal Style.

Shakes? Excellent.

Yup, having worked in a few places where I was pressing potatoes through the wall-mounted slicer, I can tell you that the reason the In-N-Out fries seem bland is because we're used to the processed shit everyone has been serving for decades. I have no idea if they brine them, but if they're just cut fresh, rinsed, and fried, all you're tasting is potato and some salt. One place I worked at, we had to brine our cut potato wedges overnight. I don't think we even rinsed them before they were breaded and fried. People used to travel from all over the area just for the damn potatoes.

To everybody who doesn't like the food because of personal tastes, look up in the sky and try to find where the point flew over your heads.

I like french fries as much as I like burgers. Nothing like a melt in your mouth fresh french fries fried in clean grease. I had a McDonalds place for that next town over. We would go there specifically.
