I have used Accuweather for years, but have been unable to get a radar screen the past few days. Any suggestions?

you might try deleting and reinstalling the app.

I noticed some weird stuff a couple days ago here in the DeKalb area, but it seems to be OK today.

As to suggestions, do what I do, look out the window. It seems as accurate as Accuweather or Channel 5 from Chicago. I do like Brad Miller's reports, however.

When I lived in northern Illinois for several years back in the 20th century I learned my local counties by all the severe thunderstorm and/or tornado watches/warnings. "The National Weather Service has issued a [bad weather of some type] for the counties of Lee, Whiteside, Winnebago, Boone, DeKalb, Cook, McHenry, Jo Davies, Stephenson, Carrol, Ogle, Kane, DuPage..." I use it all the time and especially the past two days with all this crazy rain we were getting here in PA and the radar worked just fine.

In fact, it saved our butts last night. We were at a minor-league baseball game and I’m looking at the radar and there is massive torrential downpour headed our way and I ran and got our van and we got out of there just as it hit.

As was mentioned before, try a delete and reinstall of the app.

The “Weather” app on iPhones is quite decent. Including the “Radar” field. Pinch to zoom (contract/enlarge), and reposition the map.

It’s built-in so you automatically have it as an alternative to Accuweather.

It’s gone a little wonky on me lately, but I closed all apps and restarted my phone and it worked fine.

I am not using it on my phone, but on my Apple Lap top. I have been doing a lot of driving lately (a thousand miles last Wed-Fri) for a car dealer and like to know what I am getting into.

When asking for help on such issues it’s a good idea to state the platform in the OP.

National Weather Service and National Hurricane Center. Accuweather and most commericial channels hype the weather. Besides these government sites provide the information to these commericial sites. Weather has now become big business with "Weather personalities" There is a big difference between the local TV weatherman and the serviceman who did the forcasting for D day.

Try WeatherUnderground. I've found it way more accurate and it is installed on the computers in the vehicles of Michigan State Troopers.

I have been using Weather Underground forever. It's accurate and they have the best records.
I'm always going there trying to get historical weather conditions when we do our crash reconstructions and comparing to bodycam footage from the date, it's pretty damn accurate.
