I received an plastic shipping envelope delivered by USPS. Address correct but addressee unknown. Checked the sender - sender business unknown (at least search results don't yield anything). Sender address doesn't seem to exist either (street address, city exists). ePostage indicated 1lb contents but it seems like an empty envelope. Tracking trail starts at a USPS hub, not a private location. Not sure what to make of this or what to do. Return to sender to a non-existent business and address? Throw it away? It’s not yours. Write “RETURN TO SENDER-ADDRESSEE UNKNOWN” on it and drop it in a mail box. Or just throw it away. I doubt there’s anyone going through the garbage looking for addresses.

Okay, I'll do that. But as far as I can tell, the sender (biz) and the sender address don't exist either. Suspicious. I wonder what USPS will do when they can't return to sender - sender address non-existent. Weird. "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it." Most likely they will (re)deliver it to the one address they know is good - yours! I say this because I have had the same happen to me. I've had fantasies about pasting the letter/envelope to a cinder block before returning, but never had the guts to actually do it.

Amazon fake review. They created fake Amazon account, used your address for the fake account, "purchased" the item from themselves, shipped an empty envelope, and then wrote a glowing review for their piece of shit. Do that a few dozen times and they'll trick hundreds or thousands of people into buying the piece of shit. This is a real thing? Wow.... I assume this can only happen for items not shipped from Amazon - seller shipped items only? "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it." L.Tolstoy "A government is just a body of people, usually, notably, ungoverned." Shepherd Book

Unfortunately it's a real thing. Sigforum opened my eyes to this scam a year or two ago. There is actually a Chrome and Firefox extension called Fakespot that checks review legitimacy. Definitely seller shipped not Amazon shipped. With the turnover rate at Amazon warehouses the scammer would have to actually work for a living to have an inside person to ship air for the scam.
