I know many years ago there were pedometers that counted steps. I also know there are very elaborate units that are a cell phone on your wrist kind of thing. Not for that kind of thing. Preferably not a wireless device.
Something to calculate movement. Maybe count calories, heart rate. etc.

I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars. Educate me on what I want.

Not and apple user btw.

Thanks guys.

Apple watch?

If you are already using an iPhone, it works as a sensor for the Health app to do many things. It also tracks activity, etc. on its own.

Yes, it will also be that "cell phone on your wrist" thing, but you don't have to use it that way if you don't want to.

Thanks guys. The Fitbit Inspire 3 looks like an entry watch with some fairly positive reviews for under $100 ?????

I got the original Google Pixel watch on sale last year and it's worked well - pairs with Android phones, works with FitBit, monitors heart rate, fall monitoring, etc. The newer Pixel models can set you back more but the original is good to go unless you find the advanced features are must-haves.

Be aware some FitBit features require a paid account there. But basic features are free.

I’ve had a few fitbits over the years. They always seemed to work well. I have since started wearing a Garmin golf watch that also monitors steps, sleep, etc.

My wife used to get Fitbits.

They kept breaking every couple of years.

After her fourth one, she bought an Apple watch.

The Fitbits were replaced under warranty. She bought the extended warranty.

She never had a problem with the Apple watch.
She upgraded once for better technology.

I had Fitbits for several years and they're a good basic monitor. I'm not familiar with today's models.
A few years ago I got an Apple watch by being in a health study my insurance company was involved in and now I'd have a hard time going back. The fact I'm now in the age where more data is good to know and the phone and I-pad interface with the health app is nice too.
