I’m thinking that a cooktop griddle would be a better utensil. Photos in the article look good though.

“Since British people went into lockdown and cafes and restaurants closed their doors in March, people have been taking to Instagram to show off their burgeoning culinary skills.
……
Since then bakers have gone on to try their hands at sourdough starters, pancake cereal and cookie fries - but the latest creation going viral is frying pan pizza.

We did a frozen pizza in an XL cast iron skillet, when we realized that the oven at the camp didn't work...

Heat in skillet, toss in microwave to finish off the top.

Wasn't ideal, but it worked in a camp setting.

My son uses this thing at least a couple times a week, it works great. It cooks from the top and bottom, it does a good job on re-heating fried foods too

Sorry, not a pan

I made a low carb version of this today.

Sprinkle Enough shredded skim mozzarella to cover the bottom of a medium, dry frying pan, medium heat.

Sprinkle with herbs, crushed hot peppers, pepperoni and marinara sauce.

Cook until edges start to brown.

Shut off heat and let it sit for a minute or two to firm up.

Slide onto a plate and enjoy.

This is before I added herbs and it was about half done.

Field expedient pizza.

It works; on a stone is ideal but, not everyone has a stone or, big enough sheet pan so, skillet pizza it is.

We did our time 'roughing' it years ago. We all grouped up on cots in a small stone windowless building.
Now we have a camphouse that sleeps 14, has a gravity fed (pump assisted now) water with water heater, indoor shower, but still an outdoor outhouse.
'Kitchen' has a residential stove/oven re-plumbed to use a gill propane tank, but as we discovered, the oven doesn't work.

It actually works pretty well if you reverse the order. Put it in the microwave until it gets melty, and then finish in the cast iron. The microwave cooks the pizza, and the cast iron skillet crisps the crust up. It actually comes out pretty damn good for frozen pizza.

"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."
