Tankless water heaters
We went with a Navien Tankless heater about a year ago. Cost was eye-wateringly expensive ($6000), but I was fed up with the mess, space, and replacement schedule of conventional water heaters.

We'd absolutely make the same choice if we had to do it over again.

I had a Rinnai installed almost 20 years ago. I'm not sure I could go back to a hot tank. we never have to wait for it to heat up water even if 20 people take a shower.

Love mine! Just make sure to do regular maintenance on it (descaling).

We installed a Rinnai unit shortly after we moved in 6+ years ago and it's been flawless. I love the fact that we are not heating water just to have it ready to go. We have a delay getting water to the farthest faucets but not enough to go back to a tank unit. I would never install an electric on demand unit, just no real savings, gas/propane is the only way to go.

Thanks for all of the replies. I bit the bullet and had a Navien installed this morning. So far, so good! I like the space savings in the garage too!
