On a vaguely related note if you are looking for ginger beer as a mixer, I have found Krogers / Fred Meyers generic/house label Ginger beer to be outstanding by itself or for a mule mixer.

When I have the misfortune to acquire scotch, I generally use it to marinate meat. Some spices and brown sugar, then grill it so the fat caramelizes. Eat while drinking bourbon.
