A great boxer, and a great man. "Vicious jab" sounds like a contradiction in terms. But the man had a vicious jab.

I immediately thought of The Rumble in the Jungle when I saw the headline of George Foreman’s death. Epic.

“Working hard?, hardly workin’.”

I'd argue that Larry Holmes' was moreso. That guy was fast and brutal. A fight between those two would have been spectacular.

I always liked George. He seemed to be a genuinely nice guy, unlike so many other professional athletes who are just thugs.

Yes, Larry Holmes maybe had the best jab ever in the Heavyweight division. Let's not forget Ali as well. Those were the types of guys who hurt you with the jab.. it wasn't just to measure distance. Foreman had a lot more boxing skills than he got credit for.. not just a KO guy.

As a boxer, Foreman had a fearsome reputation and could've easily bowed-out of the public light after that career but, there's no denying that the last 40-years in lending his name to a kitchen appliance made him the greatest athlete pitchman since Joe DiMaggio's time as Mr.Coffee.

Crazy, we were just talking about him at work on Thursday.
Coworker met him a few years ago, completely random, at a resort here in N Houston.

Good lord. That was incredible. I guess these days they would stop the fight before someone died on the spot with a brain injury.

I grew up with George Foreman, I always liked and respected him. He was great. Another great American, rest in peace good sir.
