What is so different about Eneloop bateries and say, Everready or Ray-o-vac or Duracell, etc. SigP229R Harry Callahan "A man has got to know his limitations". Teddy Roosevelt "Talk soft carry a big stick" I Cor10: 13 "1611KJV"

If I've learned correctly the biggest difference is that my Eneloops will never leak and destroy what they're in like Duraleaks have too many times.

Thanks for the heads up. Does visiting SF save me money or cost me? Hmmm?

Thanks. Eneloops are awesome. I use these or lithium only after having so many alkaline batteries leak. I have come to despise alkaline batteries.

I love these batteries, and have them in everything that needs an AA or AAA. Have a few extras now that kids/controller/etc. aren't in the house, but thanks for the heads up! You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

Has anyone used the adapters for the c's and d's? I am a long time user of the AA's and love them! They are in all my flashlights, remotes, mouse, and Flash for my Canon. I have never had an issue and they last far longer than the standard alkaline's I have used in the past (and with some peace of mind with regards to leaking) They maintain a very good charge when stored as well. I like the Eneloop Pro 2500 mAh AA cells, which are also LSD (low self discharge).

I have read these batteries sold by Ikea are good batteries. They are 2450 mAh, four for $6.99. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/70303876/ The description says they can be charged 500 times. IIRC, the Eneloops may have a higher number of rated charging cycles.

FYI, I saw Costco had the Panasonic Enelooop battery's - that is, some AA some AAA, a C cell adapter included with the charger again. Great price. To folks not familiar with Eneloops, these are rechargeable, they say you can get up to 2100 recharges on them.

That is my spot. |
YES- to adapters. Obviously, the AA inside the adapter does not hold as much energy as the C and D would so the run time is shorter. But usually worth it for the convenience of NOT having to stock C and D. If you have SEVERAL devices that need it and want longer run times, it may be worth buying NIMH C and D batteries but I have not gone that route. There are lots of folks that like to mod Mag-lights to run different rechargeables. I just use adapters on them with AA and it is fine for me with stock bulbs or Malkoff Drop-ins. ***************** Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Ben Franklin

^ Thanks for the info... Yeah, I thought it might be good to have a couple in a pinch. I rarely need the C's or D's. If it won't matter in 5 years don't give it more than 5 minutes.

Glad I could help. I probably have 100 or so eneloops and several dozen lithium 123 and AA lithiums lying around at any given time. I have heard of folks labelling eneloops and tracking charges and uses and whatnot. I just buy a few more every few years to make sure I have some with a few thousand charges left. So, yes, I am a light/ batt nerd but not as crazy as some people. ***************** Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Ben Franklin

That rug really tied the room together. |
The Amazon basics rechargeables (Made in Japan ones) are eneloops. The C and D adapters work good. Of course, an AA battery has a lot less energy, so you'll be swapping them more often. ______________________________________________________ Often times a very small man can cast a very large shadow
