Having just hit that number, I'm thinking.

You hear about someone dying at 45 and everyone says wow, that's not right.

A 55 year old passes, he got cheated.

Sixty-five, sad, that's just too young.

Seventy -- Well....

I hear you. I’ll hit the mark, hopefully, in January. The I’m going to a friends funeral tomorrow. He was 49. Heart attack. He was a construction worker that was very fit - on the outside.

I'm not sure where the threshold between "too young" and "well, he/she had a good run" is. But more than 70.

Stay positive

Every day my feet hit the ground I get to take chances.

I wear a watch and it reminds me of how short life is and I need to make the most of every minute.

Keep moving my friend.

Cheers~

I'm 61 myself and am the youngest of five, the oldest also 75. Not looking forward to the next 10 years or so. Even worse, the time passes faster as you age. Those years will be on me before I know it.

I'll be 72 in a couple of months and I'm feeling it. Eyes are going to hell, aches and pains showing up, a general slowing down etc. I don't dwell on it because I can't slow the progress of time. I had a bout of cancer a few years ago that came close to ending my run. Every day is a gift now so I just cruise along with a smile on my face.

Turned 72 last month. Have my share of health issues. That said most all those I grew up with are gone. But I take solace in the fact that my folks are still kicking at 94. Smile

I'm glad you started this thread! I get to know how old you old farts are! I''l hit the 70 milestone in 9 months. Yes, the years go by quicker as you get older. Just makes you realize that you need to savor each day as if it was your last!

Be well, fellow old-folks! LOL

Shugart is 75 and still alive. Who'd a thunk it. And still mean to boot. In a couple of weeks my mother will be 99. Some say its a gift, but as much as it hurts I don't know.

A couple of years ago, Shugart inherited a bundle. We tried to help him spend it, but still no Ferrari. Guess he has too much sense to latch on to a 23 YO girlfriend. She'd do him in quickly. At least we don't need to put up with that smile on is face. If I tried that, my wife would kill me. And I'm no where near as old as that old coot. I'll be 72 in a few more months. I could die a happy man if I had a few evenings with that 23 YO.

The Abbey Road thread(50 years ago) and PBS Country Music doc reminded me of my age. Despite annoying back/leg problems and a bout with prostate cancer a couple years ago, I'm doing fine. I think I'm way ahead of the curve on fitness and am well-preserved or so I'm told. I can't think of any reason others would butter me up.

When I was young I wished I'd lived in other times but now wouldn't trade my years for anyone else's. I sure don't want to be young today. Eek

And when I say "70 -- Well...", that seems to be the impression of those younger than me. Fuck 'em.

A buddy recently told me the best thing he discovered about growing older was he finally no longer had to be worried about dying too young!!!

And I've already lived a good half century longer than I ever thought I'd last, so other than geezeritis now & then this really IS my 'golden age'.

Although it is a little weird realizing betwen family & friends I know more dead people than living!

I’ll turn 70 in October. I keep telling everyone that the warranty expired when I turned 65.

Thank God for Medicare.

Turning 70 in several months. Physically doing OK, a few minor glitches but working on them with physical therapy.

MY solution for my 70th Birthday; A new C8 Corvette. Should arrive in the late Summer, just in time.

Losing friends and acquaintances does suck though.

70’s Good run.
