I know several of you have talked about having Roku TVs. I bought a Philips Roku TV last week, and everything is great, except I can’t get my Frontier cable remote to pair with it, so I csn’t change cable channels. I have National Geographic channel, period. I can go through the pairing process, both with and without entering a code and finally get it to shut off the TV, but it won’t turn it on or change channels. Any ideas?

You don’t pair the cable remote with this kind of TV

You set up your cable box as an input on the screen

Then you use the Roku remote to switch back and forth to each streaming app, and the cable box shows as a tile and an “app”

When you switch to the cable box then you use your cable remote to change cable channels

The Roku remote does not change channels on the Cable tile as set up. When I go to Cable as the input as set up the channel will not change.

Ok is your cable box plugged into HDMI 1 then?

And is turned on?

The cable TV input tile should switch you right to the cable box

Then say you want to go back to the main Roku screen and watch Netflix, you’d hit the HOME button on the Roku remote.

Well, this turned out to be something totally stupid, and I really apologize for the delayed response.

When I unplugged the old TV to plug in the new one, I apparently shifted the cable box over in the console/cabinet. I DID have the cable remote paired with the new TV and it does control the cable input. From where I sit, the sensor eye on the cable box was now blocked by a wood bar on the cabinet door from the angle I was pointing the remote. Shifted the cable box over several inches and now all is good.
