loved them as a kid. No restrictions on cherry bombs and M80's back then. These days and with dogs that don't like them, I hate to see "fireworks" holidays roll around.

Also as a younger kid, and at the drive-in one 4th, I wasn't allowed out of the car alone, but witnessed a cherry bomb or M80 tossed at the feet of a teenager that was just walking around. Blew a rock into the teens eye. He covered his eye with a hand as he knelt to the ground. Turned out he lost sight in that eye. Then I knew Ray as an adult. We worked for the same company but in different divisions. I never asked him about nor talked with him about the incident. He had a glass eye. Looked pretty normal most of the time considering.

Fireworks now are nothing like when I was a kid in TN. Michigan recently decided to make aerial fireworks legal and the mortars are like cannons. The power in them seems to rival professional fireworks.
