Read a description of JRT as "thugs in clown suits."

They are also incredibly stubborn (or persistent as they like to think) and the training must be constant and consistent. Once they get an idea in their head, good luck getting it out. Because I love to torture myself I got males. The one that's still alive just turned 9 and is unneutered. He obeys me (most of the time) but can be an absolute hellion when I'm not around.

Once descriptions start to lean this way, all I can hear is "cat".

“Thugs in clown suits”. Big Grin

That made me chuckle. They can certainly behave like that at times.

I was lucky enough to be Bella's human for almost 16 years. She was a Jack Russel Terror! The most loving, loyal and intelligent companion that any human could hope to care for. I can only hope that the next pup that chooses me for their human care taker is close to the same. My goodness, I do miss that little dog!

There is rarely a day that goes by that I don’t think about my beloved JRT. He lived with us 18 years and was like a brother to me. Energetic, ready for anything, highly intelligent and always excited to go on adventures. He was the best dog I’ve ever known.

He loved going boating. My brother put a kids Spiderman lifejacket on him for the pic as a joke. He could swim pretty darn good.

My vote goes for a Llewellin Setter. Largely due in part to Jim the Wonder Dog.

Llewellin Setter’s are sweet dogs! That’s all my uncle has owned. I have fond memories of Bandit the Llewellin Setter chasing me as I rode around on a go-cart all over my grandparents property in Chesapeake Virginia! Super cool dogs!
