Illinois troopers patrol undercover dressed as construction workers

The fact is the undercover bullshit does not slow traffic but it does collect revenue. If the goal is safety post an officer with a cruiser and lights before the site. Not all drivers are perfect like you. The goal of public safety is to protect the construction workers.
I don’t know how it’s done elsewhere in the country but around here construction is not an overtime deal. It’s a detail at a contractual rate backfilled by the contractor and written into the bid.
"Undercover bullshit" doesn't slow drug traffic either but it does collect drugs and revenue and somehow makes my life a bit better. You're a cop right? Your PD interdicts drugs and the vast majority of interdiction is performed undercover, right? What's the difference?
If the goal is safety then who cares if there's an undercover cop in a construction zone or not; better for me if the driver is consciously questioning the possibility at every construction zone.
Can one really expect patrol at every construction site? No. I wish I had a cop posted at every site I work,; the guy would be grabbing nice "revenue".
Not certain how my excellent driving skills got involved, but yes, the skills indeed are developed and excellent; I'm grateful you discerned that hidden fact.

^^^^^^^^ A uniformed officer with a lit up cruiser is at the construction site to maintain safety and slow down traffic. He’s not there to interdict drugs, provide driver training, or raise revenue. I don’t have the numbers immediately available but an inordinate number of officers, state workers, and construction crew personnel have been killed or severely injured in Massachusetts over the last few years.
That’s the bottom line and I’m done with the stupidity in this thread.

just like a lot of other states, the few inattentive , distracted, drunk, stupid, "important " people are spoiling it for the many .
I drive through this 55 m.p.h. zone 8 times a month. i.m.o. they were two months late in setting up this radar system.
"F" the speeders in the construction zone with big fat bat, three miles of minding the law will not impact your life , one bit "F" emThis message has been edited. Last edited by: bendable,
