Raised Hands Surround Us Three Nails To Protect Us |
The tool I am looking for looks like a meat cleaver with a long handle essentially. Nice to carry with on a hike for chopping brush but doubles as bit of a walking stick as the top has no sharp edge. This message has been edited. I think what you are talking about is a billhook / brush hook? Googled up about a dozen different ones checking my memory. ----------The weather is here I wish you were beautiful----------

Similar to this but has a 32” (give or take) handle. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. You should know I'll be there for you!

It's not easy being me |
Maybe a "Lively Lad", as my Dad always called it? I'd post a picture, but I might be up all night getting the picture on here. It's a weed cutter on a handle. I have two in my garage, and used one of them just last week. Either Lowes or HD sells them for about $20, the other place about $30. OK, found an example of a "Lively Lad" on Ace Hardware site: Manual Weed cutter _______________________________________ Flammable, Inflammable, or Nonflammable....... In my family, that tool is called an idiot stick (even before the movie "Sling Blade" came out).

Fiskars makes one that kicks the 4x higher priced woodsmans Pal butt all over the place. My buddies have all bought these after using mine and their Pals sit unused. Plus at less than $30 I'm not too concerned if I damage it - hasn't happened in over 10 years, but just in case. I've only had to touch the edge up a couple times in that period. It lops live branches off with very little effort compared to a hatchet or machete. Fiskars Brush Axe I reject your reality and substitute my own. --Adam Savage, MythBusters

I was going to recommend a normal machete but that Fiskars cutter above looks like a damn nice tool. .....never marry a woman who is mean to your waitress.

A Bush Axe is also called a Kaiser blade . When it's razor sharp it's one baddass tool . You can take down saplings with no effort .

The shape is the same as a Japanese pull saw with about 10” more in handle length. Of course it is nowhere near the construction of a pull saw but the shape is nearly identical. SUIZAN Japanese Hand Saw 10 inch Kataba (Single Edge) Pull Saw for Woodworking https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071..._api_i_qN21Bb92NYCJM I saw the fella today who we went hiking with who had it. He has no clue what it is called or where to get one as he inherited it. A really nice piece and would take saplings in a few swings and was the most effective tool I have seen on honey suckle. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. I have a machete, actually a couple, but this tool was much more versatile as you could put the flat top portion on the ground and use it for balance if needed. Plus there was a lot less exposed blade. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I'm a big fan of Fiskars products, and that unit looks like it would work well, but I think that the handle is too short. If they made one with a handle that would reach the ground I'd buy one in a second. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Guess it is called a Sugar Cane Machete. Finding different lengths for the handles. One I saw was likely closer to 30” overall length. https://www.machetespecialists...e-machete-with-hook/ ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad.
