Some of these CBS folks really think they have status as they are the heir to Walter Cronkite. Well Walter retired 45 years ago, and the network is not the same, they have to try something new.

Saw a little clip from Mark Halperin yesterday where he said they basically have 7 months to produce a 12 minute segment. They know their goose is cooked, and instead of getting to work, they are throwing tantrums and getting fired. They want to blame someone rather than fix it.

Could be he planned the whole charade, knowing the changes coming and he was going to have to change his ways or rumors abounded that he was going to be out of a job anyway.

Or an impromptu tantrum to try and get fired, put it out there in the public for exposure/press, then push your book, new jobs, podcast.

Either way, it's proof that there are intrenched leftists running all these networks and shows and just like their protestors, they just can't hold back their tongues when they should.

Yes. One can totally disagree with the direction the company is taking, resign, and leave quietly. No drama required if one is an adult.

I strongly suspect that the second to last line of termination letter explicitly included the phrase "terminated for cause." According to Gemini AI, New York State that phrase means fired due to explicit misconduct, policy violations, or poor performance which the douche canoe did in front of witnesses in 2 meetings in 1 day.

I don't know the terms of his contract with CBS, but fired for cause can include losing unpaid bonuses, stock options, or severance. I did have to chuckle when Gemini AI kept using the phrase "talent contract" for this political hack.

I can't say I've ever given this guy much thought, since he's pigeonholed as part of contemporary leftist media, and we all know where that places him in this society; a huge part of the problem.

If you had asked me if I thought the guy had a big ego, I would have said almost certainly.

But, I had no idea the guy has balls the size of grapefruit. To decline a private meeting with your new boss, with the intent of ambushing him when everyone from your organization is present- and to say "You suck, your boss sucks even worse, everyone hates you, and you need to explain to me right now why you fired some of my co-workers..."

And then, when any of us would have been fired-and-a-half, you crapped on a second chance to keep your multi-million dollar job...

Baby, "ego" doesn't even begin to cover it. I can tell that you think you're the star of your own movie, but if you think you come out of this looking like a hero, well, you're not only an egomaniac, you're a stupid egomaniac.
