Colorado and Wyoming are being hammered by a full on blizzard.

A foot plus of snow, 70mph winds, very cold.

Everything is closed or closing.

This is a wind map of the US. It looks like someone did the divide by zero thing and all the wind is being sucked in.

It’s terribly windy in OKC.

I hate this, the blowing screws up my allergies.

I spent 75 minutes this morning at the bottom of a gully. My Toyota Sienna just couldn't quite make it up the slippery hill.

All good! Spent the day hunkered down at home. Terrible winds and blowing snow, but we never lost power, surprisingly. Everything in the area is shut down though.

We’re OK because we’re not going anywhere. My wife works for the school district. They’ve already called for tomorrow. I’d say visibility is less than 100’ right now. Funny thing is that yesterday was the nicest day since sometime last fall. I sat out in the garage (faces south) and had a cigar yesterday afternoon. I had on a hooded sweatshirt and took it off because it was too warm. Today, I guess the weather system meets the definition of a “bomb cyclone.” There was a drop in barometric pressure exceeding 30 millibars. Nasty

Down south, it was just another wintery day here. I kept the wood stove going, and stayed inside. News reported a 97 mph wind gust at Peterson AFB in CO Sprgs. Eek. Stay warm everyone.

Tapering off in the south Denver metro. Pretty heavy snow. I like the wind map. I use the MyRadar app on my iPhone and use a wind overlay that is really useful.

Heavy snow and wind in Metro Denver. Schools closed. Roads hazardous. Otherwise no big deal. We'll be at 40-50 degrees by weekend.

It's still snowing a little and it's windy. Not like this morning though. It was blowing like a sumbitch earlier. Looks like it's about 6 or 8 inches but I'm not going out there to find out tonight. Probably have to shovel some in the morning. About 25 degrees, so not cold.

A little windy here in the high central mountains, but probably only 2-3 inches of snow last night and today; much less than last week’s series of storms. I take what’s given, but less than forecast is okay by me.

Now see, that’s my fault, I should not have used the NWS term for a dramatic fall in barometric pressure. More exclamation points than an 8th grade girl uses to text her friends about the new boy in English class.

Funny they never said "BOMB CYCLONE" until someone either looked up or invented the term within the past 5 years.

Still some wind here. Scattered two foot drifts. Ran the snowblower and cleaned off the sidewalks and driveway. The worst snow was mid day with strong wind gusts causing the drifting.

I spent most of the day inside, and had a client drop in for 3 hours of IFR ground school. He said it took 45 minutes to make it home about 12 miles away. I imagine in two days most all of it will be gone.

Wind is blowing like crazy and the snow is moving around like the sand dunes. Roads are slick, but not to bad, the wind sucks.
