For those who have never seen a New Orleans funeral. Many excellent photos at the link. The costumes are all hand made and quite elaborate.

Kim 'Cutie' Boutte, Big Queen of the Spirit of the Fi Yi Yi and Mandingo Warriors Mardi Gras Indian tribe, was laid to rest Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020, following funeral services at the Treme Community Center in New Orleans and a second-line to Congo Square. Boutte, 55, was killed Aug. 11 when a gunman opened fire on a crowd of people attending a funeral repast in New Orleans East.
