Christos Anesti (Χριστός Ανέστη) - Greeks greet each other with this starting after midnight on Easter Sunday. This phrase means, "Christ is Risen." Alithos Anesti (Aληθώς ανέστη!) - This is the response to the phrase, Christos Anesti. It means, "Truly, He is Risen." This message has been edited. Happy Orthodox Easter. First year that a ton of us Greeks aren’t getting together to eat lamb.

Never miss an opportunity to STFU |
Christos Anesti! It is too bad we can’t celebrate properly, but next year we will make up for it. Our Parish has been streaming services for a few weeks so that at least we can worship in our homes. Best wishes to all. Never be more than one step away from your sword-Old Greek Wisdom

. Christos Anesti !! It was odd having last night's Easter services broadcast via Facebook live instead of being in Church. My Yiayia and Papou are from the island of Patmos. Today, it will just be my Mom and I together and I don't have a single lamb recipe for only two people! I ended up using my lamb prep and marinade for whole lamb souvia on just a leg that is going into the oven to roast. Take care!!! .
