Why is it slow to open, sometimes I have to back out and try a second or third time to open it .

All's fine here east of you a bit, maybe your internet service is running slow.

Can you do a speed check? We use Ookla.

No issues here in central Arkansas.

Try restarting your PC.

It's a your end issue, not a SF issue.

Is your device old? When was the last time you cleared history/cookies or even just rebooted it? What's your internet connection like? All these factor in.

I had the same issue today for the first time. Not sure why but everything I have is up to date.

The impeding to action advances action.

I have had a couple of server timeouts and "site not found" instances in the past couple of months. My gut feeling was that these were DNS issues, perhaps not with the sigforum.com domain, but with external content referenced on the Lounge page (where I spend most of my time). I use a caching DNS server on my LAN as my primary resolver, and sometimes the cache contents go out-of-date, or if the request is not in the cache, the fallback to an off-premises resolver can cause a delay.

Heavy activity on the site, or on the DNS upstream can also result in a "server not responding" timeout as can slow response from servers hosting content linked on the requested page.

These occurrences are rare, and probably the fault of my own DNS infrastructure, almost all of the time, Sigforum is one of the most reliable and best performing sites on the 'net (as to be expected from CloudFlare).
