I am looking to replace my 20 year old Cabelas deer hunting jacket. It has been very warm in cold Pa deer stand. Looking for something that is lighter but still warm and waterproof. I have perused the Sitka and Kuiu sites. I am not familiar with competing brands that I should consider. Any suggestions appreciated

All my hunting stuff is from Rivers West. Lightweight, quiet and waterproof with a 10 year warranty. RW claims to be breathable, but I dont find that to be really accurate. For killer sales on Rivers West stuff, go to a website called Cascade Direct. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

and every one of them words rang true and glowed like burnin’ coal. |
I have a few Kuiu pieces. I have been happy with them. With Kuiu, I recommend layers, although they have insulated outer jackets too. I have a Super Down Ultra Jacket that I layer under either a Guide Jacket or an Axis Hoodie. If you go the Kuiu route, they have their Labor Day Sale ending today. The Guide product line is on sale. Also, there are some insulated jackets on sale. Good luck with your decision!
