There are currently a total of 10 Costco Business Centers, all located in the US around major metropolitan areas, and most of which are located on the west coast:

2 in the Seattle area
2 in the Los Angeles area
1 in the San Francisco Bay area
1 in Phoenix
1 in San Diego
1 in Las Vegas
1 in the Atlanta area
1 in the Chicago area

Whereas EVERY Sam's has business hours in EVERY location. Sam's Club operates 660 stores verses 506 with Costco. Costco could easily just open their doors two hours early for business members.... but they won't.

Costco Business Center delivers to commercial addresses using Costco trucks and drivers. It's a game changer. I use it for my job. Place the order by 3:00 for next day delivery. Costco service and prices that are difficult for other vendors to even come close to on many items. If only they delivered booze.

I've found that Costco's selection varies by location, too. I found Duke's mayo by the gallon in Richmond stores (for less than the price of two quarts at Safeway), but at my local store 70 miles away, no joy.

Any of the warehouse clubs will give you a day pass so you can check them out before committing. We have Costco, Sams, and BJ's (which no one in the thread seems to have mentioned) all within a half mile.

Where did find a you Safeway store in Richmond ?

as noted, my Costco is 70 miles from Richmond.. as is Safeway.

I was Costco business member for over 10 years. After retiring my needs downsized & not needing the 55 gallons of mayo etc it was not saving me money to travel nearly an hour each way & the gas savings wasn't enough to cover the cost.

No specific complaint with Costco, just not in their demographic either. Plus my meds are cheaper at WalMart. The last purchase I recall at Costco was AAA batteries 'on sale'.....package of about 50 for way less than any 20 elsewhere.

Costco hands down. Better overall quality of meat and food stuffs. Bakery has never let me down and produce while not outstanding is better than most. Electronics and pharmacy is very good, and I've yet to hear anyone say the vacation they bought thru Costco was crap. Gas prices are also very competitive. Produce you can find at a much better prices at the local supermarket or, farmers market however, other goods at Costco are generally of a higher than average quality and the pricing is competitive enough. Another aspect I like about Costco is they will work with local suppliers, thus each many items in a Costco support and reflects it's region; go to a Costco in Colorado/Wyoming and you'll find bison meat. Go to Hawaii and you'll find a greater variety of Asian and Polynesian foods.
