FishOnThis does not seem like 50 years ago. Grateful dead.
Saw them 100 times in the 80s and 90s. Really fun times. Still have a suitcase of tapes from the shows, stashed in the basement.

Posted before in other threads,
American Beauty is on my “Ten Best” list, but I was never a Deadhead. In the last year or so I’ve bought more of their music and listened more than I ever did before; I’ve really come to appreciate their musicianship.

6gunsI'm not a Deadhead either, but do appreciate some of their music.
I was surprised Jerry was playing a Strat. I always thought he was a Gibson SG guy.

He’s actually best known for playing a custom made guitar that he christened “Tiger,” because of the tiger inlay on the body. There is now at least one guitar maker who makes a copy of Garcia’s Tiger guitar. It’s a double cutaway that someone who’s not a guitar guy might mistake for an SG.

A good book chronicling those times is The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, by Tom Wolfe. The Grateful Dead was just coming into being and played at the "parties" (Acid Tests).
Good book by a great writer. One of his earliest efforts, many more to follow.

bdylanLove their music and sometimes think they aren't fully appreciated because of the 'scene' that developed around their touring...great musicians. They never really had a singer, either...Jerry was about the best and he has a weak voice. Great songwriting, though...excellent.

If you scroll down and click "more details" by each guitar, there is a pop-up with close-up photo and detailed info on each one.
https://jerrygarcia.com/guitars/Of all the shows I attended, I think my favs were at Telluride on my birthday in Aug of 1987. Outdoor shows surrounded by mountains. Really nice.
