I apologize for the huge ass pics, but here they are.

Nice truck.

Studies have shown that the Magnetic Grey Ford trucks are more reliable, get better fuel economy and hold their value better than other colors.

(Says the owner of a Magnetic Grey Super Duty.) Smile

What are the engine options on the new Ranger. How robust is the suspension?

I am glad Ford brought back the Ranger. But it is a different class of truck now. Guessing it cost's plenty too.

The only engine and transmission available are the 2.3 Ecoboost with a 10 speed automatic. I traded in a F150 with the 4.6 V8 and the Ranger is definitely peppier than the F150. Plus I’m averaging about 20 mpg around town, 7 mpg better than the F150 I traded.
As far as the frame and suspension, it handles better than the bigger truck but I haven’t worked it hard yet so I’ll wait to say anything about the suspension and such.

Looking at the photos, I did not see a keypad on the driver's door. Has Ford discontinued this feature?

I don't know about the Ranger, but my Focus ST has it hidden in a touch panel on the door pillar.

I think it’s available with a certain package, but I didn’t get that one. Mine is mid-level XLT with very few options.

Mine was nowhere near that much. With D plan pricing plus the rebates, I got it for about $31k. Still too much money but the F150 was considerably more.

I did a little digging. Looks like it's a $95.00 option. I thought that this was standard on all recent Fords.

It's probably worth the ninety-five bucks, at least it would be to me, the first time I absentmindedly locked myself out.

My 2010 Edge and my wife's 2011 Escape both have these, I'm pretty sure that they were standard on these vehicles.

Nice boat. Wink

Kidding aside, great looking truck!! I like that it doesn't sit low, and the color looks great.

Ditto the keypad, that sucker saved my bacon several times back when I had an F250. I really wish GM would get on board with it on theirs.

That is what I was alluding to earlier. Crazy to think about paying $35k or more for a no frills Ford Ranger.

Maybe they will settle in the $26k to 28k range in a year or three.

The vehicle bubble is going to burst soon. Give it some time when all the boomers start dying off. You are already seeing some major restructuring going on at Ford and GM, and it's only going to get worse.
