My pal made me a gift

mark123My pal made me a gift
My good friend Matt has a shop that he calls
Mr. Bones' Curiosity Shop. He makes interesting crafts such as coin rings, skeleton figures and tons of other stuff. Some of the stuff leans toward the macabre. All of it is very cool.
Here is the Molon Labe bell that he made for me out of coins:
It has a nifty little surprise inside:
(because memento mori, ya know?)
The first picture seems to match the actual color of the bell. Neato, huh?

Rey HRHLooks like a lot of work went into that one.
I think what's intricate is the underside of the bell with the ridges. That's like painting behind something that no one will see but you still paint it because you'll know.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." It almost looks like the existing knurling on the edge of some coins. Nice piece.

jhe888A strange and wonderful item. Be careful, as there is no way of knowing what it may summon.

Agreed. That's what got my attention. I thought it was the edge of a coin but as i looked at the thickness and trying to imagine how he would have shaped the coin to get the edge that way, that's when I figured the artist went to the nth degree of meticulousness.
