Haven't been there in 20 years - the wild rice platter was amazing.

An interesting thing about Glensheen: It was built at the dawn of the electrification age. Its light fixtures are electric, but with coal gas feeds too, in case electricity proved to be a passing fad.

Also, its kitchen sinks were made of soft tin, rather than enameled cast iron, so if the household staff dropped a piece of fine chinaware it’d be less likely to break.

It is a glorious old place.
