I have a Brown Bess, a Sea Service pistol, and a cutlass on a table near the front door of my home. Atop is a folded American flag and my cover from my uniform. They are serviceable, but I know of no one who knows how load or fire them, except me. "Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor.” Robert A. I have a Stoeger Double barrel that my wife ran so long and so hard that it couldn't be repaired anymore. Over that I have a TNN Coach gun (hammered Double Barrel) that I won at a match. Just looks right. No ammo close to each. At one time I had a 1903 Springfield O3A4 and a Lee Enfield Mk IV I had to sell all my WWII guns to fix my wife's teeth. I miss the Springfield. My circa 1906 Winchester Model 94 Standard Sporting Rifle hangs on my bedroom wall. I just have to gaze upon its 113 year old beauty. Everything else is in my safe. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

I too remember the days where everyone displayed their hunting guns. Great way to start a good conversation. Loved to look at everyone's guns and listen to all of the stories. But, today that is all gone. Mine and everyone I know have nothing on display. All are locked up in a safe hidden from view. Keep Americans working, buy American made!

IF, I had a man-cave, perhaps but, I don't. With home invasion robberies and nosey neighbors becoming more prevalent, I do not display my firearms. No reason for me to announce that I own some expensive piece of machinery.

Not me. When I was growing up we had a cabinet in the living room (or garage, depending on which house we were living in at the time). Dad still has that cabinet, but all his long guns are in my safe now.

I inherited my father's hand-built gun case and it still has his deer rifle and his 2 shotguns in it; it is in plain sight in an upstairs bedroom (not visible from outside). Most of my other guns are in a safe in an upstairs closet. Other than the 3 in the gun cabinet, there are no other guns visible in my home. I have a couple of lever actions displayed on a custom rack my buddy built for me. It is hanging in my office. But everything else (except for HD), all in the safe. I have an old 12ga side by side shotgun and an even older rifle of unknown manufacture hanging on my hearth wall. Both are non-functional. I keep a 22 rifle in a glass fronted cabinet in the same room. I like to have the 22 handy for varmints and consider it sacrificial if we're burglarized. I do put it in the safes with all other firearms if we leave for longer than a few days.

Yeah... my wife says much the same about our neighbourhood. "Yeah, it doesn't happen... until it does." So I'll keep upping the security procedures--which includes keeping the firearms in a safe, except for those "in use." (And an alarm system. And video surveillance. And sufficient home automation to simulate presence when we're away. And regular interface with neighbours. And keeping an eye out for unusual activity. And...)
Back when I was sharing a place with a buddy I had a Colt SAA replica in a "gunslinger's" rig hanging on the wall. Somebody broke in, stole the replica revolver, but left the leather. The leather was worth more. They also took my entire stereo system, except the Teac cassette deck, which was the best, single most expensive piece. Never could figure that out. I did not replace that stuff until after I moved out. (Actually, never did replace the replica revolver.) "America is at that awkward stage. Those look to be an Springfield 1903A3 and a Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk. I. This is a M1903A4 (a scoped sniper rifle): And this is a Lee Enfield No. 2 Mk. IV (the only Mk IV Enfield rifle; a single-shot .22 LR trainer for the No. 1 Mk. III SMLE):

I don't. My dad had some of his guns in a beautiful wood cabinet with glass doors and a few drawers under it for storage. After he passed away my mother asked me if I would used the cabinet and I had to turn it down. “We truly live in a wondrous age of stupid.” - 83v45magna "I think it's important that people understand free speech doesn't mean free from consequences societally or politically or culturally." -Pranjit Kalita, founder and CIO of Birkoa Capital Management

I have way too many milsurps to fit everything in the safes. i display a bunch in my upstairs "office". The rack along the wall has a steel cable through trigger guards. And yes, that's a bazooka in the corner. I have my own style of humor. I call it Snarkasm.

I display one, a Sharps 1874 Sporting Rifle, on the wall in my office. All the rest are in safes (except those for home defense). I guess it all depends where you live. In my state you have to store you firearms. We can have county cops check on your “storage” devices. If you do not store them, you run a chance for losing your gun license or have them stolen.

years ago, we had a nice built in gun rack Dad had built in the house we grew up in, one late evening, Dad had fallen asleep on the sofa, someone walked up to the sliding glass door, took a picture (flash went off ) and ran off, found out later the criminal type was going thru neighborhoods, taking pics, then going back to the house if they saw something they wanted, all his guns were in a safe the next day https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

I have a nice 1863 Springfield cap/ball rifle hanging over my fireplace. It was a gift from a dear late friend. Every time I look at it, I think of Joe!!
