Do you see a lot of Maseratis?
Kind of an odd question, but I keep meaning to ask. Do you see people driving Maseratis? I saw two on the way home just now which reminded me. I see at least 2-3 on the road ever day. (and I spend very little time on the road most days) On the college campus where I work, there are at least 4 or more students* who own them. They seem to be everywhere. Just wondering how normal or abnormal this is.

*We have many Asian students with rather high end cars, I suppose compared to buying them in China they're cheap here.

Not very often, maybe 1x-2x per month? I also don't commute every day, work from home a decent amount.

Yes, plenty, but I live in an area where a Porsche is a low-end vehicle for some folks, there's a Ferrari dealership on the corner and an Aston Martin down the road, and the real estate agencies have agents who deal in "estate houses".

Pretty common here in Central Florida; even out here in the semi-boonies.

Yep, but there's a dealership three miles from my house and I live in the most affluent county in all of the US.

Fewer now than about five years ago when Maserati made a big push. More Teslas than I can count.

There are a few around here. Saw one just yesterday. Their styling isn't so distinctive that you notice them, more just the badge.

Then there was the time right after I retired. I was in the nasty habit of getting up in the morning (as opposed to sleeping in) when I stopped at the chicken place and brought my lunch up to the park. Its just a few benches on the river bank. A very annoying black guy with his boom box going like mad drove up and parked. I mostly ignored him until a Maserati came up the road and parked.

Out popped a rich bitch type and got out of her car, all huffy. She wanted to meet her drug dealer so she stalked up and down the park. Finally she spied a ride fitting someone dealing drugs. So over she went for some dealings. She passed along her money and received a bag for her efforts. The dealer type, still blasting the awful noise. Nothing like a discrete meeting in an out of the way place. Then she started her car and drove away.

I see a fair number of exotic cars of all kinds. I drive through one of Houston's ritzier neighborhoods to get to work, so people around here have some expensive cars.

They sell the gamut of sports cars, Ferrai, Maserati, Lamborghini, Porsche, etc. So we seem them regularly.

Yes, but there's a dealer nearby. It also sells Ferraris, Lamborghinis, etc.

One reason Maseratis are seen more these days is that the company went into the leasing business a few years ago. One can now lease a Maserati Ghibli for about the same price as a Mercedes or BMW.

Just one occasionally on the Turnpike. It’s the same one. I am not much of a motorhead but it looks sweet.

A couple years ago I'd hear the commervials on the radio of the nearest dealer... lease deals for "only" $860 a month. Eek (might have been more)

Yes. I live within 20 minutes of a Maserati dealership. Actually, I live within 20 min of several high-end car dealerships:
  • Porshe
  • Ferrari
  • McLaren
  • Lamborghini
  • Rolls Royce
  • Bugatti
  • Tesla
  • Jaguar
