old rugged crossHay storage barn build estimate
A friend had a hay barn built recently. 30x80'. 16' walls. Metal roof. 8' metal sides. 2' eaves. Used 6x6" treated posts. Basic other than that. No electrical. Took 3-1/2 days to build. The 30x40' would take 15 of the 6x6's.
I had him ask them to quote a 30'x40'. pretty much the same specs otherwise. What would it cost for something like this where you are. Thanks

trapper189If I take the 26’x55’ all metal garage we just had built and knock out the doors, windows, and closed ends, I’m guessing $12k. The walls are 12’, but I have no idea how much to subtract for 8’, maybe $2k? It’s also built for 140mph winds which is probably more than you’d need.
It only has 6” overhangs and would require concrete footers on both sides lengthwise, so you’d have to add that to the cost. We don’t have to dig to far to get below the frost line here, but we hit water at 4’.

doublesharpIf you want real numbers Menards website has a post frame build app that will give a complete materials list. I've used them/it twice and it takes the guesswork out of materials $$$.
There is a large Amish community nearby who can put them up fast.
