Hi,
I know we have at least 1 dentist on the board, so I’m asking because my dentist (and apparently all the dentists in town) are closed weekends.

It’s a front tooth that got knocked out by a thrown rock when I was a kid. I have the veneer, it looks ok, but I haven’t tried to refit it or anything yet. Just stuck it in a bag. Is there something I can use to re-adhere it temporarily without causing damage or exposing the ground down tooth to damage? I’m going to call around at 8am and see if any dentists are open at all, but all online presences are stating they’re closed til Monday..

Seems to me one of the old guys I have breakfast with has successfully used superglue for do-it-yourself dental repairs.
I’m just reporting, not really suggesting.

Sorry you’re having trouble.

In the overall scheme of things, it’s probably mostly just embarrassing since it’s a front tooth and affects my smile. I have to be grateful it doesn’t hurt horribly (I’ve had that and I’m a big baby when it comes to my teeth/mouth and pain)
Also grateful that it didn’t happen while I was on vacation a week ago.
Thanks for your kind thoughts.

Our dentist has an emergency number to call. If not, call an E.R.

If you have an urgent care center nearby, check them. They should have dental repair/temporary fix kits and a tech or physician's assistant handy. That should hold you until the dentist's office is open.

Personally, I would put it in a bag and wait until Monday when your dentist is open. Schedule an emergency visit. Most dentists have an answering service or emergency number. I would call for sure and at the very least, leave a message stating you need to see them ASAP.

I would also say put it in a safe place and get to the dentist when you can.
If it is sensitive to cold or air you can use ortho wax to cover it. You can buy it most anywhere “walmart”
Wax is also good if it starts irritating the inside of your mouth.
