I have a motorcycle forum I hang out on, have for many years.

I've developed a cyber-relationship with several members and really enjoy the comradery.

Recently - last couple of months or so - a few of the guys I've chatted with pretty much since Day One have exhibited galloping TDS. I find that really distressing because in all other aspects, we could be brothers.

I know the best approach is not to engage, but it's getting REALLY hard to let that shit pass. I firmly believe only a fucking idiot would prefer the alternative to a Trump Presidency.

I’ll give them credit for suppressing their TDS for so many years. Something must have happened that, all of a sudden, they stormed out of the barn like that. Lol.

But yeah, I would remind them, “Hey fellas, this board is apolitical, so let’s keep it that way”. And if they continue, I would bid them AMF.

I've never thought of bikers as being leftist and anti-American. I've always thought of them as being patriots.

I hope those guys are in a very small minority.

I've run into that both on forums and in real life groups. The TDS crowd seems to be cocooned inside a heavily insulated bubble. They think almost everybody else agrees with them about Trump and MAGA, especially if you are associated with them in an interest group. They believe Trump and anyone who agrees with him in any way are evil idiots. Thus they don't expect someone they have a cordial relationship with to support Trump.

I had to quit a forum and a music meetup group when they couldn't abide "no politics".

I've seen that in some online classical music based groups that I recently began to follow. You are right, Fly-Sig, they think, of course, everybody else there agrees with them...

It's really inevitable, listening to some of the people out there that are working hard in the press, online, social media, bots on the left are always exploiting Trump and MAGA.

Either engage and run them away, or, just walk away and now you know how they feel about it or casually mention that it's not a political board, and they should consider at least not everyone thinks the way they do, because, well, normal people aren't idiots, suggest they take up bicycling, tennis, knitting.

You don't live next door to them or have family gatherings so don't worry about it...
