De Witt/Victoria, here. Losing shingles and heavy rain. 12" frack water hose in one of my culverts blocking drainage. Corn stubble starting down the ditch will completely clog drainage.

I'll second this sentiment as well. I wish the same for all of the thousands of people effected by this event. I can't imagine going through something like this. Living in the NW means not having to worry about major weather events. They just don't happen here.

I had 100+MPH winds rip HariPlank siding off my house while 200' mature Douglas Fir trees came down around my house in Snoqualmie....it was one hell of an event if you ask me, lol.

I can get out. My home itself won't flood. I've got food and drink. I even have power..sort of. There is something causing a voltage dip, as lights and such flash. Hoping it's on Co-Op end. FWIW, Guadalupe Valley EC has at last look 9,850 confirmed outages. Saw last night Corpus Christi had ~40K outages in area and estimate of maybe a month for some.

Yeah, Snoqualmie gets a tunnel effect creating some high winds for sure. I guess I should have narrowed down my area to east of the Cascades and west of the Rockies. Besides I was referring to hurricanes, tornadoes, golf ball sized hail , etc.

I seem to remember the Columbus Day Storm in 1962--the winds exceeded 150 knots on Mt. Hebo, Oregon and severely damaged a lot of property along the coast.
And isn't there an occasional Tsunami or earthquake? And, of course, there was Mt. St. Helens....
And of course, I am praying for all the folks being impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

4 PM update has Harvey stalled out at tropical storm strength (9 mph from being a Cat 1 hurricane). Path projection still has it hanging out for 2 more days, and the change is that it's even more northernly path.
I live 1.7 east of Spring Creek and I drove over for a look this afternoon and it's very high. With an additional 15" of rain forecast they're forecasting Spring Creek will rise to nearly the level of April '16.

The next time the Cascadia Subduction Zone really lets go, the resultant tsunami on the Washington and Oregon coast is going to make a bad hurricane look like kids playing in a lawn sprinkler.
It's overdue, but it might happen tomorrow or not for a hundred years.

You guys need to read the addendum to my post. Geesh! I added to say interior NW.
Besides, earthquakes and tsunamis are not weather related.
